About the role

The ITC Manager will be responsible for managing the shipping, import and trade compliance department. Reporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer.

Our Import & Trade Compliance department is a new department in the company and comprises of experts in international shipping, logistics and Trade compliance who understand global shipping, air freights and trade compliance as it relates to fashion products. Have a great attention to detail and work collaboratively and passionately to ensure that our customers get the best value for the products they love to wear.

Responsibilities 

• Communicate with the appropriate government officials to ensure all obligations are met.
• Obtains the necessary certifications for each transaction or shipment.
• Works with Buyers and/or Production to assign proper classifications to apparel, shoe, and accessory items according to calendared timing.
• Works with Finance and Import Transportation to provide the required documentation and ensure duty payments to the government are processed in a timely manner. Partner as needed to investigate and resolve inventory receiving issues (e.g., shortages)
• Perform periodic audits of import transactions for compliance and accuracy validation.
• Be prepared for a CBP audit at any time.
• Coaches & trains Vendor teams to understand and comply with shipping and trade compliance
• Guide and manage processes to support the execution of HTS classification, country of origin determination, valuation, free trade agreements, and other critical trade compliance functions
• Manage all brokerage service provider contracts with Customs Brokers to facilitate compliant and timely clearance of all products
• Evaluate and resolve potential trade compliance risks
• Create and implement standard operating policies and procedures for trade compliance
• Own and lead the shipping rates RFQ process to ensure Fashion Nova gets the best cost and service from its freight partners.
• Maintain the list of preferred ports and continually work to secure best cost capacity from each port.
• Manage the freight consolidation activities to maximize the container space utilization.

Required Skills 

• High sense of urgency, integrity, and focus.   
• Expert experience and knowledge of shipping & tariffs, HTS Classifications and import requirements as it relates to fashion products.
• IT skills (e-mail, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint) 
• Good verbal and written communication skills in both a global & local business setting.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or similar field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in Shipping and International Trade Compliance for apparel, shoes, accessories incl at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
• In-depth trade compliance knowledge and on the job experience
• Strong project development, implementation, and management skills
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Analytical Skills: Work with data: facts, figures, and number crunching to analyze and recommend a solution.
