The fastest-growing High School and College sport in America isn’t basketball or football—it’s esports—and PlayVS is the official platform for High School and Collegiate esports. As the Head of League Operations at PlayVS you will oversee the development and execution of all esports programming across all current and future competition groups. Your team will be responsible for competition planning & development, competition operations & execution, as well as other strategic esport initiatives.

*Support all phases of season competition from preseason through championships; schedule and manage matches across all competition groups.

*Collaborate with publisher partners to align on format and season schedule across all competition groups alongside Publisher Partnerships

Create season schedules and determine best match type (e.g., best of, hybrid swiss, etc.). 

*Project manage cross-functional teams leading up to season launch across all competition types. Ensure flow of communication and hold stakeholders accountable for deliverables based on season launch roadmap.

*Own and drive additional programming events with support from Brand & Marketing, Support, Product, & other stakeholders to support tournaments and recognition.

*Create and maintain rulebooks, game day protocols, and IT & Networking documentation across all competition groups (including internal competition FAQs and process documentation).

*Collaborate cross-functionally to create & surface new opportunities for players to earn scholarships and/or other prizes. Work with Finance and third-party vendors to distribute scholarships.

*Identify teams at risk of forfeit and work with sales and product to ensure matches are completed.

*Own broadcast strategy and execution for championship events across competition groups.

*Conduct user and market research to inform best practices and potential optimizations to competitions.

*Partner with Product to identify dependencies and needs internally and externally with respect to product features. Report on bugs, identify blockers on match days, test features, etc.

*Keep pulse on engagement metrics, including match completion, match setup ratings, and competitor quality ratings; bubble up user feedback & other insights to improve these.

*Lead updates to users via Blog post on at least monthly cadence in collaboration with Marketing.

*8+ years of experience in league operations or similar experience at a publisher, entertainment company or tournament operator.

*3+ years of experience managing teams.

*Strong program management and project management experience required.
