Job objective: We are looking for an outstanding manager to join and lead the Epirus Field Services team. This role will report to the Vice President, Customer Success. The ideal candidate needs to have created, grown and managed Field Service Engineers (FSEs) and is willing to create the team from the ground up. The Field Services Manager needs to be willing to gain a limited amount of subject matter expertise on the capabilities and tactical methods of Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) and Epirus technologies. The candidate will manage a team deployed OCONUS and be a point of escalation for the FSEs in regard to the installation, configuration, troubleshooting & maintenance of Epirus solutions. In this role the Field Services Manager must possess strong remote management skills in order to drive team satisfaction and a sense of belonging among the most geographically separated teams. The candidate must also be an interface to the R&D team and be a proactive conduit communicate and address challenges faced by the FSEs in regard to the ongoing operations and maintenance of the Epirus solutions. The Field Services Manager will assist with escalations to support R&D & Engineering teams if a product bug or issue is encountered with no known remedy. The FSEs will be in locations OCONUS including Forward Operating Bases. The Field Services Manger will also be required to work with the Training & Enablement team leader to create and establish a Training bootcamp as well as a Certification program so that all deployed FSEs are full prepared and ready to handle almost any product issue that will arise in the field.

Duties:

  • Establish structure for the team aligned with existing and forecasted customers
  • Attend weekly production & maintenance meetings to track and understand the impact of any hardware or software changes for the deployed FSEs
  • Be an escalation point for FSEs in regard to support and maintenance issues that require management involvement
  • Drive resource management across the FSE team to ensure existing deployed FSEs are following company deployment guidelines as well as monitoring the sales pipeline to ensure adequate capacity for future customer purchases/deployments
  • Monitor all field level issues to help ensure that the company is apprised of and can identify emerging failure trends
  • Manage field-initiated Operations Action Requests identifying unique operational problems that require technical, procedural, or quality assurance actions to resolve
  • Provide onsite support to customers where there have been persistent challenges to ensure customer sentiment remain positive and the overall deployment and operations are successful
  • Take escalation calls and requests for field assistance outside of normal working hours

 Required Qualifications

  • US Citizen (future security clearance may be required)
  • Must be willing to accept immunizations as a condition prior to travel to customer locations and be able to wear any customer required uniform and/or working attire
  • Practical understanding of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) with specific emphasis on Groups 1-3 desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree and more than ten years of experience managing field teams and FSEs required.
  • Travelling on short notice domestically, internationally, and/or to austere locations to in emergency situations required

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficient in MS Office 365 understanding of basic systems administration and logging analysis tools
  • Strong communication both written and verbal, including presentation skills for clients and partners
  • Very strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable managing quickly growing teams

Location

Our company is located in Torrance, just off of the 405. We moved into our new 100,000+ square foot facility in November 2021 and love calling it home.
