WHY WE NEED YOU

The Facilities team is responsible for the day to day operations for all Virgin Hyperloop facilities, ensuring that all related infrastructure needs are meant to help improve and maintain VH’s Test sites, campuses, Labs, office spaces and surrounding areas that promote a healthy work environment.  VH needs a new Facilities Tech to join our team to assist with routine building maintenance tasks, supporting our engineers with building test rigs and lab spaces. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing routine building and campus maintenance tasks in multiple areas such as carpentry, welding, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fabrication, and general cleaning. This individual will also be assisting shipping and receiving and in the day to day needs in operations of VH.  

  • Support the operations team with employee moves, events, visitors, shipping or receiving, and all other related tasks
  • Maintain, distribute, pick-up & deliveries, and assist with incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Receive and respond to VHO facilities helpdesk tickets for HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, or building concerns
  • Support VHO employees with company hardware storage maintenance & supply inventory
  • Collaborate with Test and Development as well as Engineering teams when facilities guidance is needed for physical projects
  • Troubleshoot company equipment, repair, and run diagnostics when needed
  • Customize shipping crates for fragile test equipment
  • Perform logistics and weight calculations of outgoing NV test site trucks
  • Must be willing to travel 5-10% of the time 

WHAT YOU’VE DONE

  • Candidate must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines
  • Candidate must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to operate large vehicles
  • Detailed experience with power tools, operating facility machinery, or mechanic shop tools
  • Experienced professional with a background working in a fast-paced corporate environment
  • Proficiency in rigging, rigging safety, and rigging call signs
  • You must be able to operate large 26’ box trucks, bobtail trucks, and steak bed trucks
  • Experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse exposure
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • You are comfortable with reading blueprints and you understand schematics
  • MUST have some construction or fabrication experience and know your way around a toolbox.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines
  • Experienced professional with a background working in a fast-paced corporate environment
  • Certifications

    • Forklift Certification
    • Telehandler Certification
    • Scissor & Ariel Lift Certification
  • Some personal project work in either construction, fabrication, art installations, landscaping, or auto mechanics.
