WHY WE NEED YOU

The Facilities team is responsible for the day-to-day operations for all Virgin Hyperloop One facilities, ensuring that all related infrastructure needs are meant to help improve and maintain VHO’s office space and surrounding areas that promote a healthy work environment. VHO needs a new Facilities Tech to join our team to assist with routine building maintenance tasks, supporting our engineers with building test rigs and lab spaces, while also helping oversee shipping and receiving.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing routine building and campus maintenance tasks in multiple areas such as carpentry, welding, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fabrication, and general cleaning.  This individual will also be responsible for managing all shipping and receiving for VHO while also assisting in the day to day needs in operations. 

• You will support the operations team with employee moves, events, visitors, and all other related tasks
• Receive and respond to VHO facilities helpdesk tickets for HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and or general building and employee concerns
• Support VHO employees with company hardware storage and maintenance equipment
• Provide support with on-site vendors
• Provide safe workspace for employees by blocking off constructions areas when needed
• Collaborate with Test and Development as well as Engineering teams when facilities guidance is needed for physical projects
• Troubleshoot company equipment, repair, and run diagnostics when needed
• Ensure a clean and organized campus.
• Maintain inventory levels for kitchens and restrooms.
• Perform other projects as assigned or as business needs change.
• Help prepare and set up office functions, activities, and office moves.
• Assist with miscellaneous handy work such as moving furniture, loading/unloading boxes, general housekeeping, and continuously observe sites for improvements
• Build Customize shipping crates for fragile test equipment
• Perform logistics and weight calculations of outgoing NV test site trucks

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

• You are a detail-oriented Facilities professional that is not afraid of rolling up your sleeves to get the job done
• You are comfortable getting in the weeds to complete your work and while you thrive working independently you are also capable of working in a team-oriented environment
• Proven ability to organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in and effective and timely manner.

MUST HAVE

• Be within a commutable distance from worksite (greater Los Angeles area)
• Willing to travel 5-10% of the time
• Candidate must be able to lift 50lbs
• Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines
• Passionate Facilities professional with experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse exposure
• Candidate must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to operate large vehicles
• Detailed experience with power tools, operating facility machinery, or mechanic shop tools
• Experienced professional with a background working in a fast-paced corporate environment
• Proficiency in rigging, rigging safety, and rigging call signs
• You must be able to operate large 26’ box trucks, bobtail trucks, and steak bed trucks

• Some personal Project work in either construction, fabrication, art installations, landscaping, or auto mechanics.
