About the Role:

We’re launching a new initiative to apply the services we’re known for in our coworking spaces to a large-scale office complex in the heart of Los Angeles. This is a major initiative for the company both in LA and nationally (you can read more about it here). The Events Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of providing amenities and services to the 5,000+ tenants and visitors in the Howard Hughes office complex. This person will also drive event and conferencing sales and marketing for a wide variety of cutting-edge conference and event program services. We’re looking for a hospitality-oriented professional with experience driving events sales who can work well in a startup environment (self-motivated, hungry, and willing to roll up your sleeves) to launch transformational products used by millions of office workers.

As the main lead overseeing our campus operations, you will be responsible for driving event sales leads through launching creative marketing strategies, managing individual deals, and creating an amazing campus community experience for thousands of tenants.

As Events Manager, you will:

  • Drive innovative marketing strategies to build awareness of our events and conference program services
  • Conduct compelling tours of event spaces in order to close business
  • Supervise the planning, logistics, and execution of individual events
  • Manage a team of 2-5 professionals to plan community events, provide an excellent concierge experience to campus tenants daily, and oversee diverse common areas
  • Liaise with building management team to solve member issues
  • Leverage campus app to engage tenants in creative ways; provide feedback to iterate app over time

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of experience in high-end event sales in the West LA area; well-developed contacts in the event planning and corporate events industry; deep understanding of the needs of today’s meeting and events planners
  • 5-9 years of work experience in at least three of: hospitality, customer service, sales, operations, startups, and/or management
  • Self-starter who is able and eager to work independently and amidst ambiguity
  • Warm and approachable; able to rapidly build relationships with stakeholders ranging from corporate executives to building management staff
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
  • Tech savvy
  • Team player
  • Reliable, inquisitive, patient
  • Passion for creating exceptional customer experiences
  • High hustle quotient: willing to get your hands dirty as necessary to move fast and get things done
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
