The Civil Systems Group (CSG) serves as the technical advisor to Civil, Commercial, and International mission partners. CSG forms trusted, strategic partnerships across the space enterprise to deliver deep technical expertise to solve the most complex systems engineering and integration challenges. By leveraging Aerospace's technical matrix, CSG enables deep technical innovation and creates opportunities for Aerospace to develop enterprise-wide capabilities for all our customers.
In this role you will be the key technical assistant to the CSG Senior Vice President. Reporting to the Principal Director, CSG Development and Operations and as a valued member of the CSG Front Office team, you will be the main point person for many SVP activities while gaining broad exposure to activities across CSG and Aerospace as a whole. This is a great growth, learning and developmental opportunity - you should expect to come away from the job with tremendous insight into how Aerospace operates at the corporate and executive levels, as well as how CSG builds relationships with customers across the space enterprise.
This position can be located in El Segundo, CA or Crystal City, VA.
What You'll Be Doing
- You will be helping CSG senior leadership guide the activities of 390 people and ~480 STE to bring the best of Aerospace to successfully support the civil, commercial, and international community
- You will work daily with CSG's SVP, GMs, and Principal Directors, CSG Development, and Front Office Team
- You will help execute CSG's strategic activities, tactically coordinate activities across the six CSG customer facing lines of business, do advanced planning, and contribute to both internal and external communications
- You will triage time sensitive and critical information, develop meeting content, reports, and analyze diverse technical activities to ensure the SVP is prepared
- You will develop technical materials for customers, Aerospace executives, and the Board of Trustees such as reports, briefings, and highlights
- You will lead Group operational excellence initiatives - including continuous improvement activities, automating workflow, deployment of agile practices, development of dashboards and metrics
- This role focuses heavily on the Strategic, Innovation, Accountability, Velocity, and collaborative aspects of the People portions of the Leadership Competency Model
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related technical discipline
- An understanding of CSG civil customers and their missions
- Familiarity with the commercial space community and/or commercial technology developments
- An understanding of key U.S. allies and their space strategies and priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to leverage internal services to address needs
- Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion
- Ability to work with a great deal of autonomy and use discretion in your day to day work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to summarize complex information for executive level communication
- Demonstrated agility and the ability to work flexible and occasional extended hours
- Highly skilled at preparing technical presentations for internal/external use
- This position requires ability a current and active TS security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
