Director, Strategy

Role Overview
InStride is seeking a Director, Strategy to lead the corporate strategy function. In this role, the leader will manage our overall strategic roadmap, provide strategic decision support, and deliver ongoing insight into the market landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain our view of the workforce education and learning landscape as the resident expert
- Provide deep insights on industry trends and competitors to the broader organization
- Align strategic priorities across the organization
- Drive to decisions on strategic topics with fact-based analysis and research
- Develop and align our internal and external partners on our strategic roadmap, working with finance to build out long term forecasts
- Build out and articulate our "flywheel" to drive sustainable growth
- Lead our monthly strategic cadence and annual strategy review process
- Lead the development of Quarterly Review and Board Meeting materials
- Be an integral part of InStride’s connective tissue to help maintain alignment and drive initiatives forward
- Act as a growth catalyst internally and an InStride ambassador externally
Ideal Profile
- 5+ years of management consulting experience, and 3+ years experience in the education, education technology and/or workforce education space
- Demonstrated passion & curiosity for our business and workforce education
- Lighting fast learner, able to grasp things quickly and turn them into insights
- Top notch presentation development and modeling skills
- Collaborative problem solver, working across teams and functions to get to a solution
- Structured, systems thinking to break down and frame issues
- Understanding of job-to-be-done or similar approach to thinking expansively and deeply about our positioning
- Passion for thinking ahead, constant improvement, and making an impact
- Proven track record of excellence
- Demonstrate the highest level of integrity with outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Exposure to the functioning of higher education institutions through direct experience or deep affiliation with the education industry
- High EQ, comfort with ambiguity and a “no job too small” startup mentality
