Director, Central Operations

Overview:

The Revenue team is looking for a strategic and operational leader to oversee our central operations division, with responsibility to support ambitious revenue, product adoption, and platform quality targets across the Weedmaps Business portfolio. Based in Southern California (LA or Irvine) or remotely, and reporting to the VP of Revenue Strategy & Operations, this role will have direct line responsibility for AdOps, RevOps, and our Ads and SaaS business teams. The right person will have a demonstrated track record of delivering against ambitious goals, strong people management capabilities, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to help build a world class central operations function. This role will require a strategic thinker who is willing to get their hands dirty while ensuring day-to-day operational execution and excellence.

The impact you'll make:

  • Own the implementation and execution of the Ads and SaaS revenue strategy; track progress, improve and evolve the strategy as needed to maximize outcomes. 
  • Serve as a primary stakeholder in the strategic planning process and goal framework for achieving our growth objectives in the advertising and SaaS businesses.
  • Own the AdOps function that provides direct operational support to enable the advertising business. 
  • Own the Revenue Operations function to support our b2b efforts beyond the advertising business.
  • Partner with the Engineering organization to ensure critical business plans and requirements to hit those for the Ads and SaaS businesses are properly identified, prioritized, and developed.
  • Continuously develop Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across AdOps and RevOps support activities and drive performance to meet and exceed those standards.
  • Work cross functionally with partners from Sales, Legal, Product, and Marketing to prioritize and execute critical business growth initiatives.

What you've accomplished:

  • BA/BS Degree required, MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of combined work experience, with increasing levels of responsibility, in operations leadership, general management, client sales, and sales operations
  • 4+ years experience managing or leading teams, with experience managing multiple discrete functions simultaneously preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve revenue, product adoption, or operational expansion targets, and to adapt to new products, new assignments, and changing market conditions
  • Cross-functional team leadership, influence, management, and alignment experience 
  • Comfort with, and ability to operate at an accelerated, iterative pace in a dynamic environment
  • Strong planning, analytical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization

Pluses:

  • Experience developing and managing business strategy for the growth of SaaS or advertising businesses
  • Experience working directly with SaaS and advertising sales operations
  • Experience developing existing and new market growth strategy and execution, either with respect to new products or new geographies
