The role:
Golden Hippo is currently looking for a Google Tag Manager Specialist who will be responsible for the flawless configuration of the correct Google tags to track actions for campaigns. The Google Tag Manager Specialist will work closely with key members of the marketing team to execute tag management strategies and deployments.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like:
- Reports to the Dir, Tech Ad Operations, and will have an active role in executing tag management strategies and deployments to many dozens of GTM containers
- Working with internal media buyers, agencies, and the mkt operations team to assure that the correct tags are configured to track actions for campaigns. Continually monitor signal integrity to ensure consistency
- Formulate creative tracking, tagging, and reporting solutions to meet business needs, including attribution approaches, user experience optimization, identity management, privacy compliance, and a variety of other challenges
- Work with IT and engineering to intercept misguided requests, and handle resolutions for the stakeholders. Block and tackle for Engineering so they can focus on more important projects
- Assist with the implementation and management of analytics tools including but not limited to Google Analytics
- Assist with S2S integrations and evaluate the use of 3rd party turnkey solutions for new S2S methods
The Best Candidates Will Have:
- Advanced knowledge of tag management solutions such as Google Tag Manager
- Highly proficient in reviewing and editing HTML/JavaScript/CSS and other common programming languages
- Proficient in troubleshooting client-side scripts while working closely with web developers
- Basic understanding of digital marketing platforms & technologies including Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Native Platforms, programmatic media tactics, 3rd party ad serving, and server-side tracking
- Understanding of media performance fundamentals including attribution models
- Background with Salesforce and other data management platforms a plus
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Marketing, or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to synthesize data from multiple sources
- Strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a meticulous attention to details
