Associate Technician at Relativity Space (Greater LA Area, CA)

Team:
As part of the structures test team, you will support our mission of changing the way rockets are built and flown. The structures test team collaborates closely with our additive, manufacturing, test and design teams in an effort to validate large 3D printed structures and other complex rocket parts. As our first Apprentice Technician, you will have the opportunity to learn about the revolutionary technology that Relativity is working to bring to market and amplify the structures test team with your organizational skills and team player attitude.
What you’ll do:
Your goal is to help the team move quickly by filling in wherever a need is identified. Some of your tasks may include maintaining our inventory of test hardware, assembling new shop equipment, painting fixtures, and helping to fabricate fluid, electrical, or mechanical systems. You will learn to use a variety of hand tools and other machinery. You should be comfortable operating heavy equipment (training provided). Your initial efforts will be focused on maintaining the cleanliness of the indoor/outdoor test areas and looking for ways to streamline operations by identifying obstacles. A willingness to learn new things and ask questions along the way is highly desired.

What you need to know:
- Able to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets
- Experience using email and instant messaging platforms
- Commitment to safe work practices including using PPE as required
- Licensed to operate a motor vehicle
- Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
- Able to stand for extended periods
Nice to haves but not required:
- Experience working in fast pace industrial shop environment.
- Forklift experience
- Experience working with Technicians or Engineers.
- Inventory management.
- Technical training from vocational school or other formal setting
