ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Material Planner at GILLIG, you will be making a daily impact at a stable company that builds critical US infrastructure.  We are looking for a driven and a highly detail-oriented Material Planner to orchestrate backflush activities, review Design releases, and lead warranty procurement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

  • Maintain Production Schedule
  • Review Engineering REI Releases
  • Manage ERP Data and assign responsibility for material purchase
  • Manage orders for service and after-market requirements
  • Forecast usage for key commodities on an ongoing basis
  • Process material transactions as assigned
  • Plan GILLIG fabrication jobs
  • Review current operations to improve methods, avoid delays, and reduce waste
  • Participate in root cause analysis seeking problem resolution with data discrepancies
  • Work closely with multiple departments, including Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production, Sales and Warehouse to optimize GILLIG’s internal Supply Chain
  • Expertly manage competing priorities
  • Perform other duties as required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4-year degree or equal experience required
  • Professional knowledge of Bills of Materials and manufacturing
  • Read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong problem-solving skills, organization skills, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint; ERP systems
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to create, analyze and make decisions based off large amounts of data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Assignments are complex and broad in scope requiring outstanding creativity, superior initiative, judgment, and leadership
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • Working environment includes office settings, manufacturing floor, and warehouse
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk and occasionally kneel or squat
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to navigate manufacturing environment, comfortable around heavy machinery, tools, etc.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, (i.e. safety glasses, bump caps, hearing protection, etc.)
  • No Travel Required
  • Standard start time: 6:00 am

EXPECTED COMPENSATION

$70,000 - $99,900/annual salary + premium benefits  

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment.
