About the Web Content Manager at Headspace:

At Headspace, the Web Team is responsible for bringing Meditation and Mindfulness to life on Headspace.com through compelling editorialized content and data-driven SEO strategies. The Web Content Manager is responsible for leading editorial content strategy and development for Headspace.com.

A successful candidate must have a passion for our mission, product, and technology. You think with a strategic mind, and have recent experience leading content development, preferably at a mobile-app or subscription based company. You have a proven track record of producing exceptional content, as well as experience successfully working in partnership with social media, brand, legal, and SEO to drive traffic and engagement to an editorial site. They will bring fresh ideas, a strong point of view, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Location: This role is open to remote employees in select US states: California, New York, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Maryland + Washington DC, North Carolina and Washington. 

How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace:

  • Working with the Director of Web, you will manage the Headspace.com editorial content calendar
  • You will work with external and internal content writers, designers, and editors to develop Headspace’s content pipeline
  • Own the full production-cycle of all articles on Headspace.com including topic selection, content production, editing, and publication of engaging web articles 
  • Using SEO best practices, you will help drive organic traffic to Headspace.com through the production of new articles and optimization of existing web pages
  • Maintain editorial governance so content is up-to-date, meets editorial standards, and is consistent with the Headspace brand 
  • Work with the social media, PR, paid marketing, and CRM teams to ensure that the editorial content is marketed across all applicable channels
  • Work with Standards editor and team to help onboard SEO writers, execute contracts, and set up payments for contractors, etc.
  • Work closely with Standards to do a top-level edit of all submitted articles
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of our content, and will use this data to drive future content creation and propose optimizations for our current content
  • Perform A/B tests on articles, titles, CTAs, and landing pages to increase on-site engagement

What you’ve accomplished:

  • Minimum of 4 years of managing digital content production in online publishing, mobile apps and/or subscription 
  • Exceptional writing skills and have a portfolio demonstrating strong online storytelling 
  • Experience editing content, and can provide detailed feedback to writers on a wide range of topics
  • Experience managing external content writers and web agencies
  • Familiarity with Contentful or a comparable content management system
  • Good knowledge of SEO best practices, especially as it relates to researching keywords and editing articles
  • Should have a deep understanding of analytics and experience incorporating learnings into future content production. Experience with Google Analytics a plus. 
  • You have a fluency in social media. You understand the basic best practices for each social channel, which content and approaches work on each and why 
  • You understand content categorization and structure, content development, distribution and measurement 
  • Experience with publishing health and wellness content at a large-scale website
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills
  • Enjoy and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, agile culture—someone who embraces and leads through change and ambiguity

We're located in the heart of Santa Monica on Michigan + Cloverfield, just off the 10 freeway. Bergamont train station is right behind our office.
