We're seeking an experienced data-driven Performance Marketer leader for Darkroom's Paid Media Marketing department.
Critical to the growth of our client's businesses, the Darkroom Paid Media team is essential in creating omnichannel campaigns on platforms from Facebook and Google, to Snapchat, TikTok, and other emerging digital advertising platforms. The right candidate should be equally comfortable in a strategic leadership and management position as well as rolling up their sleeves and helping their team when it comes to strategizing, planning, building, deploying, and analyzing paid media campaigns. This role reports directly to Darkroom's Chief Operating Officer.
This job can be based in our Los Angeles office or remote, within the United States.
What you'll do:

  • Be the senior voice of Darkroom in all program-related conversations with clients on meetings, and brainstorms, including changes to their business, strategy, product, and brand.
  • Translate high-level initiatives into actionable go-to-market strategies and execution plans, driving cross-channel marketing plans from kick-off to launch. You will coach your team on how to develop, lead, and execute detailed paid media marketing strategies for campaigns to increase business KPIs and user LTV.
  • Manage a growing team of Paid Media Marketers (currently four individuals) spread across a number of our clients who are responsible for delivering results to our clients and coach, develop, hire, and train as is needed.
  • Review and audit current processes and constantly iterate and improve our processes for client onboarding, launch, and ongoing servicing.
  • Assist in the sales process to conduct thorough brand and website audits to understand our clients' key value proposition, core products, brand aesthetic and identify opportunities to successfully market them and make them stand out in the marketplace.
  • Utilize Platform Ad Managers, third-party reporting tools, and Google Analytics to develop insights and action items intended to increase our clients' revenues month-over-month and solve for attribution.
  • Understand important KPI and industry-wide benchmarks throughout all steps in the e-commerce marketing funnel.
  • Recognize and implement real-time and reactionary ad-buying decisions across multiple platforms in response to up-or-down trends happening on ads platforms.
  • Ensure the department is delivering quarterly strategies for clientele based on perceived success metrics, ad spends, YoY performance metrics, and projections.
  • Deep-dive into competitor research, industry trends, and brand identity to manage client expectations and continually brainstorm new marketing initiatives, creative assets, copy, and review after results.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development, Creative, Brand, Design, and other Growth teams to deliver a "whole-of-agency" approach to deliver custom-tailored marketing strategies.
  • Work with the Executive team, Sales, and other key stakeholders across the company to set and execute the strategy and roadmap for Darkroom's long-term growth.
  • The right candidate should have experience in helping develop direct response creative and multivariate video, photo, & copy while creating A/B testing to gauge success or the need to pivot campaigns.
  • Understand client needs for success and preemptively deliver projections and forecasts that ladder into client quarterly strategy.


What you'll need to be successful:

  • 5+ years of paid media advertising experience preferred (building high converting funnels and driving quantifiable results).
  • 5+ years minimum managing paid social and paid search advertising for growth clients, or clients spending $100k+ minimum monthly aggregate spend.
  • Experience leading an in-person or remote team of media buyers, performance marketers, or strategic media planners.
  • Experience managing departmental Profit & Loss (P&L), including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Advanced knowledge of ad platforms including but not limited to: Facebook/Instagram, Google/YouTube, LinkedIn Ads, Snapchat, TikTok.
  • Experience with how full-funnel marketing strategies ensure new acquisition, list growth, e-commerce, website CRO, retention, and overall client success based on marketing discussions and strategies that work in tandem with paid media and performance efforts.
  • Expertise in concepting, developing, testing, and optimizing advertisement copy, campaigns and creative.
  • Experience in keyword targeting and audience optimization across multiple platforms.
  • Background in data-derived decision making and forecasting budgets/spend projections linked to perceived results.
  • Not afraid to roll your sleeves up and dig into client problems, processes, and strategic planning.
