Sr. Associate, Media Planning & Strategy

We’re looking for a Sr. Associate, Digital Media Planning & Strategy to join Team Snapchat, where we are working hard to build the best platform in the world for communication and storytelling. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for planning and executing media campaigns on Snapchat, as well as other digital platforms including Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn - driving adoption and engagement with our platform and our various consumer products globally. Working from our Los Angeles, CA headquarters, you will work closely with our Marketing team and our agency partners, and collaborate with cross-functional partners across our company, including growth, revenue, sales operations, and product teams.
What you’ll do:
Media Planning & Execution
Recommend & execute digital media plans, with an extensive focus on executing campaigns for Snapchat products & programs in Snap Ads Manager. Includes identifying media tactics, consuming & creating audience/market research, projecting delivery, planning and executing campaigns
Ensure we are tracking media activity to the best of our ability by using your sophisticated knowledge of tagging & tracking capabilities both on & off Snapchat in collaboration with various internal & external contributors (e.g. growth, analytics, insights, agency)
Evolve our expectations of Snap media’s best practices, always in service of the idea & with the consumer first in your mind. Codify and communicate your thoughts on how to improve campaign performance - including creatives, designers, and producers
Stretch: Contribute to & in some cases co-write media briefs for the media agency. Proactively bring good ideas to the team about where to show up and why. Review and give feedback to internal team on integrated media strategy and plans
Marketing Integration
Communicate the media plans you are responsible for to all relevant members of the cross-functional marketing team, intake & process their feedback
Establish, lead and clearly communicate timelines, deliverables related to coordinating media, production, creative and marketing
Seek out and integrate additional sources of information into your media plans from marketers, insights, and analytics teams
Stretch: Lead, merge, and splice conversations with internal partners and the media agency. Know when and how to deliver good, bad, and consequential news Agency Management
Manage relationships with more junior people on the Snap team at our media agency, and in many cases work into provide oversight on their output
Work with agency to help revise media plans and proactively manage expectations of internal marketing team
Anticipate problems and solve them (or prepare solutions) before going to manager
Stretch: You know when it is ok to push and when people need time to work
Investment & Measurement
You will scrutinize rates, costs, delivery, and fees and identify opportunities for efficiency in media costs and increased effectiveness
You are responsible for tying XFN integration to the media plan and delivering results (e.g. app downloads, feature uses, etc) to the team
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Intimate knowledge of Snap Ads Manager
Track record of developing impactful campaigns that delivered results and achieved business objectives. Need to have examples of successfully using campaign management tools including custom audiences, geo-targeting, and creative iteration, on a variety of campaign & ad types to deliver results above & beyond expectations
Highly familiar with auction-driven media buying
Digital media specialist who understands how to use media to drive meaningful, measurable results.
Ability to set strategic vision, strong leadership instincts, and can set the standard for digital campaign planning and management, particularly in Snapchat’s own auction.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt and work effectively with a team
Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years of digital media planning and buying experience on Snapchat
3+ years of digital media planning & buying experience on Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn
Preferred Qualifications:
Highly data-driven, possessing strong ability to use insights to frame recommendations and results into concise and actionable reports
Experience working directly with strategists, creatives, and marketers (clients) to develop campaigns
You work well with others and embody the Snap values of kind, smart, and creative.
Exemplary project management skills, with strong ability to juggle multiple priorities and excel in a lean and fast paced work environment
