Social Content Art Director
Overview
HYFN is looking for a full-time, onsite and highly skilled Social Content Art Director to join the team in our Playa Vista office. This role will work collaboratively with a cross-disciplinary team (of admittedly really fun people) to concept, design, and create compelling social content across multiple platforms. While we’re looking for a very specific set of technical skills, we’re also looking for someone who just gets it. And who really wants it. Someone who’s passionate about making great work other brands would want to emulate. Who puts in the extra hours not because they have to, but because they care enough to do so. And above all, who inspires those around them with game-changing, eye-opening, slow-clap-worthy ideas.
You must have:
- BA degree in Graphic Design or equivalent work experience required
- At least 5+ years of professional experience creating social content (paid & organic) and digital campaign conception
- Exceptional portfolio demonstrating solid social design experience
- Experience overseeing other designers
- Excellent presentation & communication skills
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills, self-motivated, and proactive
- Ability to problem solve, concept and strategize on performance-focused creative
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting under tight deadlines with strong project and time management skills
- Expert knowledge of social platform current best practices, technologies, ad formats, and creative standards
- Ability to concept for a variety of brands, audiences, and client needs
- Expert in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, G-Suite, and Apple Keynote
- Exceptional understanding of typography, composition and photo retouching
- Experience with leading photo and small-scale video production
- A fiery, burning passion to make really great work. (A little dramatic, but you get it.)
What you'll do:
- Establish and collaborate on art direction for social, video, and photography projects, ensuring direction is retained throughout the entire production process
- Provide art direction oversight over a small team, providing feedback and mentorship
- Lead creative ideation, strategy and brainstorming internally
- Work closely with the business development and leadership teams to ideate and execute creative concepts, new opportunities, pitches, and proposals
- Develop creative concepts and execute them into compelling designs and assets
- Present and explain concepts, answer client questions, communicate changes to the team
- Manage client expectations with the production team and deliver
- Lead multiple projects simultaneously depending on size and scope
- Help with estimating budgets and planning schedules for key design projects
- Task, direct, and contribute to the growth of creative team members
- Participate in recruiting efforts via telephone and/or in-person interviews
- Display subject matter expertise of HYFN methodology and industry best practices
- Play with dogs. Like a lot of dogs.
