SEO Specialist
THE PURPOSE:
This position will own the SEO side of content marketing, specifically for our article pages, our CMS operations (both in Poststore & Wordpress). This position will own keyword research, content optimizations, reporting, and content and link auditing.This position will fit into the team by diving into our CMS platforms to make sure they are well optimized regarding the content that is published through them. This includes things like page
copy, page titles, header tags, and images. This position will work directly with other members of the SEO Team to assure proper reporting is happening, learning the ins-and-outs of the website and business, and how content plays into the overall goal of growing our SEO
presence. This position will also work closely with the Content Marketing team to make sure they know what SEO trends are happening, how to optimize their content, what future content should be written, and any reporting needs that are necessary to perform better in search.
The SEO Team contributes significant traffic and bottom line revenue to the business through organic acquisition of users from search engines.
THE ROLE:
- Report on the current landscape of our content within SEO.
- Build content calendar’s based on data analysis, trends, and the overall digital landscape.
- Organize and manage outreach campaigns to collaborate with other teams.
- Report on areas of improvement for our article content with SEO.
- Create content competitive analysis and optimize on-page SEO factors.
- Optimize and formulate a content marketing strategy for SEO.
- Manage vendor partnerships and research the latest cutting edge SEO tools.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
THE CANDIDATE:
2-4 years in SEO, ideally focused on content driven SEO.
Shows a track record of building a content calendar through keyword research.
Has an entrepreneurial spirit and is eager to continuing learning and understanding how search engines work.
Experience working in Wordpress.
Experience working with content optimization tools such as AHREFs, SearchMetrics, SEMrush or similar tools
Experience working with Excel formulas such as VLookUps & pivot tables.
Experience in acquiring and/or auditing backlinks for SEO.
Experience in YouTube SEO or video related SEO.
Creative thinker that is always innovating and testing new ideas.
Strong analytical skills – you have the ability to drive meaningful actions from large datasets.
Collaborative with excellent communication skills.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and ever changing environment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Typically in bullet form and not required
- Experience with YouTube SEO and ranking video content higher in search engines such as Google and YouTube.
- Ability to scale content optimizations through analysis and tactical knowhow.
- Experience building backlinks to specific webpages.
- Some experience with HTML & CSS.
- Good understanding of website taxonomy and its role in SEO
