We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable SEO Specialist to join our marketing team! As a SEO Specialist you will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing our SEO strategy. As our organic presence has been extremely important for the current state of our business, your position will play a huge role in driving our continued growth and success.

In your first month, you’ll complete our internal training to learn our product and customers, and you’ll work closely with our website & content teams. As you learn our industry, you’ll take ownership of our SEO strategy, and begin to implement it by working with the website team.

After gaining deep product knowledge, you’ll collaborate closely with the website & content teams. You’ll stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and customer challenges in order to better align our content efforts to drive more qualified organic traffic.

Initial Responsibilities

  • Gain deep knowledge of current data, and ideate around new opportunities
  • Regularly perform thorough keywords research
  • Collaborate with marketing team on content strategy
  • Monitor conversion rate, bounce rate, and other KPIs
  • Plan, develop and implement SEO strategy

Responsibilities that can be earned

  • Own SEO strategy for SimplePractice Learning
  • Own SEO strategy for complementary business units & website

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as SEO Specialist or similar role
  • 2+ years of experience in planning and implementing a successful SEO strategy
  • Proven success in SEO 
  • Expertise in Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMRush & related tools
  • Track and analyze technical factors affecting search visibility, crawling and index coverage, providing insight and recommendations for improvement
  • Discover and report on potential systemic technical problems in indexability, canonicalization, redirects, HTTP errors, etc.
  • Self-motivated to always be learning our customer base

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with WordPress and Yoast
  • Experience with A/B testing
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with SEM

Josh Keegan Gross’ tech stack includes Ruby on Rails on the backend and Ember.js on the frontend. “Both are opinionated frameworks which take time to learn but allow engineers to complete feature work faster and with more code integrity,” he said. The team has been working on a new project to SimplePractice — a searchable platform of clinicians called the Monarch Directory. “This is a big new direction for us and the impact is huge,” said Keegan Gross. “Allowing people to more easily find and connect with a therapist adds a lot of value to our clinicians, company and the public at large.”

Engineers are invited to demo new technologies at lunch-and-learns and our weekly meetings regularly feature demos of something new we’re using in our stack.
