THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Senior Social Media Strategist who will be responsible for developing and implementing an organic social media strategy that drives a best-in-class customer experience, fosters engagement, and builds our community. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results on social campaigns, with the ability to multitask and prioritize, plus a drive for testing, learning, and making insight- and data-driven decisions. As a leader and advocate for social, you will own all organic social efforts, developing and overseeing monthly content calendars as well as campaign-specific content plans for key social media and digital platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
In this role, you will work as an extension of both the content and creative teams, ensuring that our content is optimized across all social platforms while informing and inspiring elevated social work and new ways to connect audiences to our brand.
This leader will not only be a confident and strategic thought partner and team lead, but also an effective resource for teams across the company to help translate our brand vision into a compelling social experience. This role will report directly to the Senior Director of Content and Community and will oversee a Social Media Specialist & Community Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish insights- and data-driven channel strategies for all organic social platforms
- Develop and oversee monthly content calendars
- Develop social strategies and content plans for special launches and initiatives, from inception through post-launch
- Establish and own goals and performance metrics for organic social; monitor regularly to understand effectiveness and make recommendations for continuous improvement
- Work closely and collaboratively across content, creative, paid social, and other internal teams to champion fully integrated, social-first ideas
- Partner with the analytics team to create and perform experiments to help us refine strategy and improve workflow
- Analyze video and link performance on social and deliver digestible, actionable feedback
- Share ongoing strategic recommendations on social platforms and updates based on trends in social listening, the competitive landscape, platform updates, etc.
- Create organized, cohesive decks that clearly demonstrate strategic thinking and generate enthusiasm for the social work
- Create performance reports that present actionable insights
- Write strategically sound briefs to guide creative development
- Serve as a mentor and escalation point for junior staff and trusted advisor for senior staff
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of experience in social media marketing, preferably within the consumer product or ecommerce space
- Ability to develop, present, and execute social strategies
- Well-versed in experimenting with content and strategy to optimize for important metrics
- Understanding of the digital landscape, and a proven interest in staying on top of developments in social platforms and applications
- Ability to communicate learnings and share knowledge in an effective way
- Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners/talent
- Creative thinker with passion for developing and delivering big ideas
- Strong understanding of analytics, with the ability to generate and present reports
- Tireless attention to detail with relentlessly high standards
