Business Development Representative (SDR)

Job Description

To continue this growth, SearchStax is looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR). This position centers on finding, developing and transferring qualified opportunities to Account Executives. SDRs are supported in their effort with technology, templates, scripts, databases, marketing campaigns and a brand that is building recognition and respect in the search world. SDRs are encouraged to contribute campaign and marketing ideas and assets such as effective copy. A successful candidate will be an outgoing, energetic, articulate person with a fledging but positive track record in sales. The person in this role will be a personable individual, confident to receive and initiate a substantial number of contacts every day – via email, phone, and more. Many such contacts will lead to the establishment of relationships with senior executives; this is why the candidate must be an excellent listener and a confident messenger of the SearchStax products and services. Communication with prospects requires perfect syntax, both verbally and in the written form.

Compensation

Base + Bonus per qualified lead + bonus for leads closed by sales

Responsibilities

  • Accept and process inbound sales requests (emails, phone calls, chats, etc.)
  • Set up meetings between qualified prospects and Account Executives
  • Execute marketing campaigns
  • Organize prospecting effort to yield maximum results
  • Navigate organizations to locate the departments where SearchStax products answers a need
  • Locate and establish rapport with the prospects’ decision makers
  • Understand prospects needs, objectives and constraints
  • Qualify prospects and opportunities
  • Describe SearchStax product and services line
  • Articulate each product and service value proposition, as needed
  • Nurture prospects until an opportunity becomes qualified enough to transfer to Account Executive
  • Arrange the logistics of meetings between Account Executives and prospects
  • Confirm meetings and encourage prospect to attend meeting
  • Follow up regularly with Account Executive after each meeting to determine if opportunity was real or prospect needs to be allocated back to Sales Associate
  • Nurture prospects with whom SearchStax had an opportunity than did not convert
  • Track work and produce reports
  • Adhere to data entry standards
  • Suggest improvements: better processes, new campaigns
  • Signal immediately when campaigns are succeeding or failing beyond expectation

Skills and Characteristics

  • Outgoing, personable
  • Willing to call large number of strangers and establish rapport with them
  • Organized
  • Strong listening skills
  • Perfect grammar and syntax, both verbally and on paper, and great spelling
  • Confident, even while calling VPs of large organizations or CEO of small ones
  • Pleasant mike/phone voice, good elocution
  • Understanding and familiarity with, and interest in web technologies

Experience

  • At least 1 year in sales, with successful track record
  • At least 3 years in the work force

Nice to have

  • Exposure with web infrastructure technology, ideally search
  • Exposure to sales in the tech space, ideally SaaS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable college
