Riot Games was established in 2006 by entrepreneurial gamers who believe that player-focused game development can result in great games. In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends to critical and player acclaim. As the most played PC game in the world, over 100 million play every month. Players form the foundation of our community and it’s for them that we continue to evolve and improve the League of Legends experience.

We’re looking for humble but ambitious, razor-sharp professionals who can teach us a thing or two. We promise to return the favor. Like us, you take play seriously; you’re passionate about games. We embrace those who see things differently, aren’t afraid to experiment, and who have a healthy disregard for constraints.

That's where you come in.

As the Riot Platform Group - Senior Communications Manager, you'll be part of the team responsible for unlocking Riot's ability to ship and publish new games through innovative player focused experiences and technology solutions. You'll be responsible for both the strategy and execution of communications with Riot's internal teams as well as direct to Riot players. You'll work with diverse teams across the company to help craft and communicate our combined product offerings to players.

You are:

  • A natural communicator: With at least 7+ years as a communications pro, brand manager, PR, community lead or similar you're adept at communicating a lot in a short amount of words; your writing style is unpretentious, unspun and authentic.
  • A leader: you guide teams down the right paths even if they're unpopular or difficult to traverse; your unshakable confidence and cool head makes others look towards you when sirens are blaring and all hell is generally breaking loose.
  • A genuine wordsmith: you have a bulletproof command of the English language, and you choose your words very, very carefully; the prospect of perfecting a message really gets you going.
  • A careful strategist: the challenges of communicating for an internationally successful publisher are global in scope; your culturally-aware and player-focused answers to them are precisely aimed because of your ability and willingness to study problems from all angles.
  • A master planner: you're a project pathfinder, breaking down massive ventures into attainable, measurable, non-panic-attack-inducing objectives; when projects seem overly daunting, you steer the process along with calculated planning and efficient scheduling that helps you hurdle barriers and bust through blockers.
  • A player advocate: you're the first to put your hand up when our actions don't match our words; you're ready with questions and recommendations to make our platform experience awesome for fans.
  • A master mediator: you find opportunity in conflict, and can instantly gauge the temp in a room or cut through distractions to the crux of a problem; you meet debates and disputes head on, listen with focus and discernment, create compromises for tough disagreements, and find faster ways to common ground even when the ETA seems a long way off.

You will:

  • Build internal and external communication strategies for Riot Platform Group's products aligned to the platform Publishing and Development plans.
  • Drive awareness and visibility to RPG's mission and key products across Riot's game teams and regional offices.
  • Craft player facing messaging highlighting updates and improvements to platform systems and new feature additions.
  • Identify speaking opportunities and engagements for key RPG leadership to help with recruiting.
  • Work with the RPG leadership group and product leads to champion great player communication across our portfolio of products.
  • Evaluate areas of opportunity where communication tools, methods, and channels can be buffed for greater success, than lead the way in making it the new meta.
  • Identify team and staffing needs to expand the team's communication horsepower where needed.

Don’t forget to include a resume and cover letter. We receive a lot of applications, but we’ll notice a fun, well-written intro that shows us you take play seriously.
