System1 is has launched its newest digital content offering providing consumers with the latest information on real time deals and sales for online shopping. We are excited to add lead content writer & editor with expertise in SEO and shopping verticals to continue to expand our available content and further engage consumers on our sites.

Our teams work with a high level of ownership and attention to detail, and provide autonomy while still supporting each other with team-based collaboration projects and training. You will work with a small team of writers, marketing specialists, and product owners to lead content production and ideation, and ensure thorough editing and proofreading of all published content.

The Role You Will Have

• Lead other writers in creating content that adheres to SEO best practices, and serve as an editing mentor to help the team produce the best-quality content from ideation to publishing
• Research and develop ideas across topics and verticals, review and optimize your individual creative strategy, and create original content on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
• Scour the web for trending deals, sales, and promotions and create content that helps our users find the best deals on the products they're searching for
• Create daily blog-style posts that highlight 4-5 shopping verticals and provide relevant decision-making value for consumers
• Work with the broader team of marketing and product owners to report on trending, changing, and emerging topics and verticals that can be incorporated into the site
• Review and advise on images and creative elements to complement written content

What You Will Bring

• 3+ years producing written content or copywriting in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Experience serving successfully as a team-lead or editorial lead, or demonstrated growth toward this goal in previous settings
• Demonstrated self-drive and initiative to independently manage your work flow and produce consistent content at scale for multiple verticals
• Familiarity with creating viral content, or understanding of the principles that drive content to users on a viral scale
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading, and the ability to self-edit for ready-to-publish content
• Basic knowledge of SEO and/or SEO best practices
• Knowledge of basic HTML and merchandising technology is a plus
• BA in English, Journalism, Marketing, Creative Writing or a similar field is a strong preference
