Position Overview
We are seeking a founding Head of Product Marketing to join our team and establish the formal Product Marketing discipline at Consensus, including a robust GTM strategy.
The Head of Product Marketing will be responsible for creating the end-to-end go-to-market strategy and positioning for our products and services. This position will also be a leader and form a team of product marketing managers and senior product marketing managers. This role will work closely with the product development, sales, support, finance, legal, policy, strategy, and marketing teams to ensure that our products and services are effectively designed and marketed to our target audiences.

  • Building and leading a team of product marketing managers: This includes mentoring, coaching and leading the team, setting goals and objectives and ensuring that the team is aligned with the company's overall strategy.
  • Developing and executing go-to-market strategies for new products and services: This includes leading the creation of compelling product positioning, specific value propositions, messaging and identifying target markets and segments.
  • Owning results: This includes close collaboration with sales and marketing to ensure the economic success of individual products and services, analyzing the sales pipeline, product revenues and churn, and ultimately accountability for revenue and growth goals.
  • Conducting market and competitive research: This includes analyzing market trends, customer feedback, and the competitive landscape collaboration with Product Management to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Managing product launches: This includes creating the overall launch strategy for the company as well as developing and executing specific launch plans, working with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launch and ongoing product success.
  • Creating product marketing collateral: This includes developing product sheets, case studies, webinars, blog posts, and constantly evolving solution-specific content that effectively communicate the value of the product to customers.
  • Collaborating with product teams: This includes working closely with the product management team to refine product/market fit and to ensure that our products are delivering what our customers and prospects want and need.
  • Collaborating with GTM teams: This includes working closely with product, marketing, pre-sales, and sales teams to deliver compelling sales propositions and ensure best-in-class enablement and training ensuring that the product is effectively positioned and sold in the market.
  • Managing product pricing: This includes determining and managing the pricing strategy for the product, monitoring and analyzing the product's performance in the market, and collecting and analyzing competitive price strategies.
  • Representing the company: This includes representing the company and product at industry events and conferences and building relationships with key industry influencers.
  • Analyzing market data: This includes tracking and analyzing product performance in the market, identifying areas of improvement and making recommendations for future product development.
  • Staying current with industry trends and best practices: This includes staying up to date with the latest trends and best practices in product marketing and continuously seeking out new ways to improve the product and the product marketing strategy.
  • Action orientation: This includes modeling an inclusive, roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic by showing a willingness to participate in daily workloads when needed to make deadlines.
  • Flexibility: Other responsibilities as assigned by your leaders


What you will bring to the table

  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing or a related field
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and marketing software products
  • 4+ years experience with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product marketing
  • 4+ years experience leading and mentoring a team of product marketing professionals
  • Recent experience in leading product marketing functions in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation skills combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with market and competitive research
  • Solid project management skills
  • Experience with marketing automation tools and CRM software


You will stand out if you also have

  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and marketing software products
  • Established or worked on the team for creating the Product Marketing discipline at a company
  • Experience with compliance-heavy industries
  • Experience working with public sector, i.e. U.S. Government entities
  • Strong understanding of healthcare technology, artificial intelligence, and/or machine learning
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business would be helpful
