We’re looking for an experienced insights leader to join our Marketing Insights and Analytics team as our Head of Marketing Insights! As a member of the Marketing Insights and Analytics team, you will manage a team that creates and socializes all internally facing brand research. Your team will be responsible for all research focused on global perceptions of Snap Inc brands that inspire, prioritize, and evaluate Marketing spend. Working from our Santa Monica office, you will collaborate with Marketing, Analytics, Strategy, Media, Finance, Product, and Data Science teams to optimize and refine marketing strategies for Snap Inc features / products / initiatives related to consumer, advertisers and AR makers (developers/creatives).
What you’ll do:
Lead a team of marketing insights professionals, including coaching and developing team members to aid in their career development
Independently manage complex internally-facing brand insights projects of varying scope including custom 3P studies, syndicated sources, and 1P research
Gain and evangelize a holistic understanding and appreciation for key Snap audience targets (needs, wants, and desires)
Build and maintain relationships across Marketing and the broader Snap organization
Proactively monitor syndicated sources for relevant insights and socialize as appropriate to internal stakeholders
Employ a variety of market research methods / techniques such as positioning testing, segmentation creation and usage, brand tracking techniques and best practices, focus groups, IDIs, ethnographies, MaxDiff positioning studies, conjoint/discrete choice models
Fully plan and execute the end-to-end process for quantitative and qualitative research studies, including vendor management / onboarding, research briefs and proposals, questionnaire / discussion guide development, data analysis, deliverable creation, socialization, and stakeholder management / engagement
Routinize insights initiatives to scale across Marketing
Knowledge, Skills & Ways of Working:
Knowledge:
Able to lead research with minimal oversight and strong strategic thinking capabilities
Fluent in qual and quant - understands when to use what method and how to blend various methods together
Expert in a variety of market research methods / techniques and how/when to use within Marketing (positioning and copy testing, segmentation creation and usage, brand tracking techniques and best practices, focus groups, IDIs, ethnographies, MaxDiff positioning studies, conjoint/discrete choice models)
Knowledge of statistical concepts and how to apply them to research methods
Expert in how to evaluate the effectiveness of a marketing campaign
Skills:
Strong synthesis skills across multiple types of research. Makes recommendations with a strong, data-driven point of view
Understands where to "poke holes" and challenge research to ensure results are defensible
Keen ability to connect the dots between disparate sources and think strategically about how recommendations will impact the bottom line of the business in the short-term and long-term
Exceptional attention to detail with an eye for presentation design and conveying granular data in a digestible way
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with a team player attitude
Ways of Working:
Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, work flawlessly under tight deadlines, and prioritize across several simultaneous projects
A passion for Snapchat and understanding consumer behavior
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience.
12+ years of experience in global market research across multiple countries; 5+ years working in brand-side marketing
Previous experience managing teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in both ad-supported and subscription-based brands
Experience working in both B2B and B2C research
Technology industry experience

- The base salary range for this position is $195,0000 - 280,000
- This position is eligible for a discretionary performance-based bonus
- This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
