Summary:

It's a once in a lifetime opportunity – being part of the US team responsible for Facebook Inc. campaigns (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Oculus, WhatsApp, etc.). You will take part in strategy, planning, and operations for Mindshare's US dedicated Facebook team located at Mindshare Los Angeles.

With 116 offices across 86 different countries, each Mindshare office is unique. While this role is based in Los Angeles, it works closely with the Facebook Global teams in Portland and San Francisco. Irrespective of office, we're all bound by a few things that remain important: strategic vision, an understanding of the fundamentals, an eye for innovation, curiosity, and passion.

We collaborate extremely closely with our agency partners, media or creative – in fact a vast majority of all our successes have come from our strong partnerships. And in this case, it's especially true – with much of the creative being done in-house, and a wealth of information and intelligence coming directly from the client.

We were appointed to the global Facebook account in 2014 and have grown quickly ever since. The US market is the largest market in the Facebook portfolio and it continues to grow – in this position, you will be fully dedicated to the brand, building both your skills as well as supporting one of the most high profile brands in the world.

Reporting structure:

The Director Media Planning will report into the US Planning lead

The Role: Director, Facebook Company

As a Director working on Facebook, you'll lead the newest – and one of the most high profile – pieces of business across the entire company. Your role within this team will be to lead media planning and implementation for the Facebook Company (corporate and brand reputation) division. You will work directly with the US planning lead and integrated investment leads to craft high impact campaigns and launch a new phase in Facebook's overall brand marketing road map. You will also liaise with the Global Planning Directors based in San Francisco and London, who will be peers in client management and overall strategy development.

The team is growing fast, so the best candidate will be a proven 'self starter' who can take on projects with sometimes limited information, and understand how to get the appropriate information out of the client. This person should understand the news and politics landscape, and be up to date on the media partners in this landscape. They should also understand traditional media and be savvy in digital and new, innovative media opportunities. A positive attitude and innate curiosity with the world of media are an absolute must.

This is an extremely fast moving business, so you will need to manage deadlines and timelines in new and different ways, and be okay with things not always being perfect.

You must have the ability to build strong relationships with Facebook clients (from junior up to senior levels), be a patient and willing partner to help them navigate and unravel complex questions, and create a working environment for your team that enables us to get the best from everyone. You will be the ultimate source of guidance and inspiration for the US, as Facebook continues their hyper-growth transition into one of the Mindshare's largest media clients.

You'll manage junior staff (associate, senior associate, manager, and associate director) through the day to day relationship with our clients, creative teams, internal buying teams, and analytics teams. The best partner will be someone who is highly collaborative, interested in differing viewpoints, able to work with a wide range of client and agency personalities, be confident in expressing and explaining Mindshare's value within the Facebook org, shows a keen interest in developing their team, and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and pitch in when things move fast.
