Bird is a last-mile electric vehicle sharing company dedicated to bringing safe, low-cost, environmentally-friendly transportation solutions to communities across the world. As the Director of Corporate Communications, you will be at the heart of Bird’s mission but it might feel like you are at the center of the storm. If you are interested in a role where no day is the same and you want to re-write the communications playbook for start ups, keep reading.

What You'll Do:

• Evangelize Bird’s corporate narrative and mission in creative ways to existing and new audiences; partner closely with international counterparts to ensure programs can scale globally
• Provide strategic communications counsel at all levels of the organization, including senior leaders
• Develop a 360-degree view of Bird’s overall business
• Lead media relations strategy and develop narratives that drive top tier coverage of key corporate activities (Executive, Consumer, Business)
• Develop strategy and lead execution of crisis communications
• Partner with the internal communications team to develop and execute communications programs for key members of the leadership team
• Build/lead a team of Corporate Communications experts

Qualifications:

• A passion for Bird, and Corporate PR and hunger for an exciting opportunity
• 10+ years experience (mix of agency/in house experience preferred)
• Ability to see the bigger picture and ensure we leverage Bird’s resources effectively
• A self-starter, able to run with projects with (at times) minimal direction
• Skilled at managing up and down; prioritizing and setting expectations as needed
• Fearless and effective communicator; someone who is not afraid to throw out an idea or challenge an existing one to help advance Bird’s mission
• Flexible, adaptable and open: able to juggle multiple projects at once and unfazed by change whenever it happens (because in this environment things can and do often shift very quickly
