Bird is a last-mile electric vehicle sharing company dedicated to bringing safe, low-cost, environmentally-friendly transportation solutions to communities across the world. We provide a fleet of electric, shared scooters that can be accessed via smartphone. Bird is headquartered in Venice, California and is rapidly expanding across the country and the world.

You will be an integral member of the Corporate Communications Team and will work closely with individuals on the team to build and strengthen media relationships, develop and pitch story ideas to generate earned media coverage and help elevate Bird’s overall brand with the media.

What You'll Do:

• Foster relationships with key media, industry analysts, bloggers and influencers Identify and pursue speaking and award opportunities
• Manage reactive media inquiriesDevelop proactive pitches
• Work closely with spokespeople to prepare them for media interviews and speaking engagements
• Draft PR materials such as press releases, blog posts, reactive statements, communications plans, briefing materials and key message points

Qualifications:

• A passion for Bird, and drive to make an impact while continuing to learn from others
• 2+ years directly relevant experience (mix of agency/in house experience preferred)
• Relationships and familiarity with relevant media and influencers
• Effective communicator who is not afraid to throw out an idea or challenge an existing one to help advance Bird’s mission
• Team-oriented mentality and willingness to help other team members across the organization
• Flexible, adaptable and open: able to juggle multiple projects at once and unphased by change whenever it happens (because in this environment things can and do often shift very quickly)
