As a member of GumGum’s Corporate Communications team, the Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for managing and carrying out all corporate communications programs in the Americas (Canada, North America, and Mexico). This includes building strategic communications programs that align with the larger global communications strategy as well as meet the unique needs of each region.
The Corporate Communications Manager will have strong writing and communication skills, experience working with go-to-market teams and tenacity to develop, drive, and deliver high impact communications that help our customer facing teams. They’ll be laser focused on how to deliver the right information to the right people at the right time. They’ll thrive working with colleagues in many teams around the world and will be energized by being a part of a fast-moving, innovative organization. Responsibilities
- Own Communication Programs across the Americas Region
- Manage all external communications programs from start to finish while ensuring all global communications strategies are implemented for the Americas region (U.S., Canada, and Mexico)
- Develop and write a wide-range of communications materials (often on quick turn-around) including press releases, bylines, briefing materials, messaging, thought leadership, award entries, social media content.
- Continually find new and exciting opportunities and ways to tell GumGum’s stories to GumGum’s audiences.
- Research new external opportunities (inbound requests and proactive outreach), and continually build/maintain relationships with key media contacts and partners.
- Work closely with the marketing team to build an external calendar and align communications announcements to key marketing initiatives.
- Strong Project Management to ensure all elements of a program are delivered end-to-end.
- Media Monitoring and Strategic Positioning
- Stays up to date on industry trends and able to use that knowledge to position GumGum externally.
- Use media and industry insights to find new ways to tell
- Use industry knowledge and insight to draft messaging and POVs (point-of-views) on news announcements regarding the industry and/or competitors.
- Be an Internal Strategic Partner & Develop Strong Internal Relationships
- Collaborate across key departments to ensure strategic integration and consistency.
- Serve as a knowledge hub and resource for extended teams on the trends and storylines taking place in each market and help to craft messaging that will resonate.
- Help develop and institute new approaches to measure/analyze the impact of our work toward key business and corporate reputation goals
- Support communication strategies and campaigns to promote the brand, business growth, product launches, partnership announcements, and more
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience working across communications channels/disciplines (e.g., media relations, content writing, digital/social media, etc.) – agency experience recommended, but not required
- Strong media relations skills and relationships with key journalists and publications
- Excellent written and verbal communicator, with a strong attention to detail. Experience in writing press releases, bylines, and messaging.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Able to effectively communicate with senior level internal and external partners
- Ability to interpret complex technology innovations and translate into bold, compelling and distinctive content appropriate to the audience and channel (media, digital, social, keynotes, video and more).
- Demonstrated understanding of landscape and trends in technology/ad tech communications
- 3+ years of experience in communications, with exceptional communications strategy, media relations, content development and proactive storytelling skills
- BA/BS degree in communications, marketing or related field required
- Self-starter who can identify and orchestrate external engagement opportunities, including speaking engagements, social media opportunities and digital platforms
- Highly collaborative – builds strong relationships internally and externally with positive/can-do attitude
- Entrepreneurial mindset – thinks creatively and outside the box, brings outside-in thinking to every project, and always figures out a way to get things done
- Global orientation – experience in working for a global company preferred
- Willingness to participate in virtual meetings outside of regular business hours to accommodate other time zones
