About the role

The Community Lead reports to the SVP, Head of Customer Experience and is responsible for managing culture, communication, and knowledge management across the Genius organization, especially in light of the rapid expansion of employees and office locations. He or she is responsible for creating a coherent, holistic culture from these disparate offices - including the Philippines - so that Genius functions as a single cultural whole despite geographic distances. The Community Lead is literally responsible for forming a “community” across Genius through various operational initiatives, including managing a new incentives system, developing new intra-departmental communication strategies, promoting cross-office cultural events and activities, and developing new culture-related KPIs.

Things you're good at

  • Culture and Community: A passionate care and concern for people and developing relationships between people within an organization enables a strong foundation for developing a holistic Genius culture.
  • Empathy: This role requires dealing with people across different geographical and cultural boundaries, so having an innate ability to communicate kindly and empathetically is a key component of success.
  • Data-Centricity: Understanding the importance of data in mapping success and being creative in inventing ways to collect data (especially from otherwise intangible, qualitative areas) ensures the objective tracking of cultural advances.
  • Written and Verbal Communication: Being able to communicate effectively, especially through the written word, is a premier means of being able to connect together the disparate elements of the Genius function.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee overall culture and communication from a Genius level with a key focus on integrating the Philippines into the larger org.
  • Author and disseminate a weekly newsletter across the Genius org with weekly KPI updates, top performers, key updates, etc.
  • Develop inter-office culture initiatives among both US and Philippines-based agents to ensure a steady stream of engagement and interaction.
  • Manage a new incentives system for excellent performance, including the awarding and redemption of points.
  • Direct the agenda of monthly Town Hall meetings and weekly key leadership meetings in the Genius org to ensure meetings stay focused and on-track.
  • Manage a new anonymous employee surveying system, including management of all questions, dissemination cadence, and internal logistics.
  • Develop internal culture-related KPIs for the Genius organization in collaboration with HR.
  • Oversee knowledge management for non-specialty function Genius Notion pages.
  • Handle various administrative needs as required by the business.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An insatiably friendly, inviting, gung-ho personality
  • Prior experience organizing cultural events (remote and otherwise) is preferred, but not necessary
  • Prior experience dealing with people across multiple cultures is preferred, but also not required
  • A bachelor’s degree, because there’s room for advancement and the extra skills help with that

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity
  • Health, vision and dental insurance
  • Daily meals provided
  • Monthly wellness stipend
  • 401k match
