We’re looking for a Communications Manager to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Communications team, you will help manage proactive communications strategy for our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Public Policy, and Trust and Safety efforts. Working from our LA or DC office, you will serve as a senior writer that supports executive communications needs, drafting and editing public-facing reports, and other external-facing materials.
What you'll do:
Serve as a spokesperson for the media on these issues.
Work closely with Snap’s leaders across each of these topics to help identify opportunities for ideas for external campaigns and creative stories.
Serve as lead writer supporting executive communications needs such as speeches, op-eds and the drafting of public facing reports,white papers and other written materials.
Pitch news stories, organise press briefings, create press materials, and prepare spokespeople for media interviews and speaking engagements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience working in public policy communications, either within governmental organizations at the national or state level or other in other corporate communications environments.
Experience working as a speechwriter or writer (which could also include experience in journalism).
Excellent relationships with reporters, including ability to handle complex stories.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to build relationships cross-functionally and manage a wide variety of partners.
The confidence and skills to work strategically despite frequent inbound inquiries and requests.
An eloquent verbal communicator with superb written skills and fastidious attention to detail.
BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience
8+ years of professional experience ideally working in government, political communications or other corporate environments
