We’re looking for a Communications Associate to join Team Snapchat! Working from our Los Angeles, CA headquarters, you will play a role in packaging and landing stories in key business publications, and work with the Communications team to keep the team smart, organized, and strategic. You’ll also work cross-functionally with teams such as Legal, Policy, Finance, and more as a part of everyday proactive and reactive public relations planning.
What you’ll do:
Support corporate-related PR efforts: building and executing on media strategies for ongoing product news as well as proactive feature opportunities, message development, spokesperson training, and media briefings
Work cross-functionally with teams such as Legal, Policy, Finance, and Marketing to build media plans and press kit packages that support Snap’s priorities and messages
Maintain backgrounders, FAQs, etc., and provide input on messaging as needed across the business to ensure our narrative is cohesive and consistent internally and externally
Support maintenance of media lists, briefing materials, coverage reports, and team trackers
Regularly monitor press email inbox, as well as share competitive business and policy news stories with the team with the goal of informing strategic decisions and identifying media moments and opportunities
Assist in drafting both press pitches and internal presentation materials
Foster ongoing Snap media relations with select reporters in an effort to increase Snap placements in media and strategic Snap coverage
Minimum qualifications:
3-4 years of experience in communications or public relations
Experience working directly with tech or consumer media, building media strategies and messaging, and spokesperson training
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field of study
Preferred qualifications:
Proven ability to research, contextualize, and prioritize information while working alone and across global teams
A creative thinker with the ability to see media opportunities and execute quickly for coverage
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A high level of professional integrity and confidentiality
Experience working at an agency and working in-house
