Who is Boulevard?

Boulevard provides the first and only client experience platform for appointment-based, self-care businesses. We empower our customers to give their clients more of the magical moments that matter most.

Before launching in 2016, our founders spent months interviewing salon managers and working behind front desks to understand their pain points so we could design a modern, user-friendly platform that meets the unique needs of their business. Our roots may be in hair salons, but we are built for the broader self-care industry, including many types of salons, spas, medspa, barbershops, and more. Our technology not only helps our customers survive but thrive. Take a look at how we (and YOU) can make that happen.

We have an insatiable curiosity and embrace experimentation. We believe that simple solutions require the most sophistication, and we design each and every detail to maximize potential, power, and impact. Do our values match? Read through our story and what we value the most.

Our team values and celebrates our diverse backgrounds. Being open about who we are and what we do allows us to do the best work of our lives. We believe in equal opportunity for all, and you should too.

Come do the best work of your life at Boulevard.

As the Revenue Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's revenue accounting process and related systems, including the month-end close. You will be a key member of the finance team, and will be responsible for ensuring that the company's financial operations are efficient, accurate, and compliant with accounting standards. You will report to the Controller, and work closely with other members of the finance team, and key stakeholders across the organization to help drive growth and financial success.

What you’ll do here:

  • Own the month-end close process for revenue and related accounts, including checklists, reconciliations, and variance analyses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Oversee AR operations
  • Perform vendor selection and lead the implementation of a new revenue recognition software module
  • Revamp key month-end close processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, completeness, and compliance with ASC 606 and SOX
  • Develop and document accounting policies and procedures to support scaling operations and ensure audit readiness
  • Review customer contracts and order forms to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606
  • Participate in the development and improvement of internal controls, including documentation to support controls
  • Assist in coordinating with external auditors to ensure timely completion of annual audit
  • Perform technical accounting analyses and memorialize conclusions in accounting policy memoranda
  • Assist senior management in analyzing financial performance and identifying variances from budgets and forecasts
  • Create and maintain process documentation and SOPs
  • Perform ad hoc projects as needed
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of direct reports

What you'll need to thrive:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 5+ years of experience, preferably in public accounting or a high-growth company
  • CPA preferred
  • Deep understanding of ASC 606, SOX compliance, and close operations
  • People management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the organization
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience implementing new accounting systems
  • Experience with streamlining processes and/or design and implementation of new accounting policies and procedures
  • Proficient in revenue systems (NetSuite ARM, Workday Financials, Zuora Revenue, RightRev, or similar)
  • Interest or experience in leveraging AI and automation to optimize accounting processes
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform duties with minimal supervision and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and manage multiple priorities

How we'll take care of you:

At Boulevard, we work hard to structure compensation in a way that balances internal equity with local market competitiveness, and we’re happy to share a good-faith estimate of the base salary range for this role. For candidates in NYC, the SF Bay Area, and Seattle, the anticipated base salary range is $121,000 - $151,000 per year. For all other U.S. locations, the anticipated base salary range is $103,000 - $132,355 per year. In addition to this base compensation, this role may be eligible to participate in a variable compensation program. Final compensation will vary based on a variety of factors, which include but are not limited to applicable experience, location, and final leveling.

In addition to the wonderful people you’ll get to work with and challenging projects that’ll push you - Boulevard is here to make sure you’re always at the top of your game emotionally, mentally, and physically.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
