Join us if you want to make a huge impact on a very visible commercial product and transform an entire industry. We are seeking an exceptional Paralegal for our Real Estate Underwriting team. You will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting closely with internal teams and various third parties involved in financing transactions. We’re looking for motivated candidates with prior legal experience with a real estate or escrow company and have acute attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation of legal documents and draft routine letters and other correspondence, and review and edit prepared documents for formatting and accuracy.
- Review real estate due diligence (e.g. title commitments/reports, surveys, leases, organizational documents).
- Work with our lender partners and collaborate with internal real estate and account management teams to close real estate transactions.
- Communicate with and assist in distribution of agreements/documentation to internal and external clients on a regular basis.
- Assist with securities, licensing, compliance and regulatory projects.
- Help implement best practices across multiple business departments.
- Assist departmental stakeholders to clear the legal hurdles that arise in compliance and underwriting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of real estate or title company legal experience.
- Frequent and clear written communication is a must.
- Strong attention to detail is a must.
- Must be extremely resourceful and effective at maintaining a high level of confidentiality in terms of the dissemination of information/communication within the department as well as externally.
- Proven ability to manage multiple, frequently changing priorities and office tasks in a calm and systematic manner.
- Self-driven work ethic.
- Curiosity and the desire to learn.
- Being tech-savvy in general is a huge plus.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
