SUMMARY / ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a business-focused and hands-on Government Contracts Manager to join our team. As part of Anduril’s in-house legal team, the Government Contracts Manager will work closely with partners from across the business in Legal, Proposals, Business Development, and Engineering. This will be the first position in this role.
As an expert in DoD acquisitions, your first responsibility will be to help us take DoD technology projects from capture to program of record and to maintain and manage our contractual responsibilities under those programs once they are won. You are resourceful, creative, and eager to take ownership of complex matters. You will bring that creativity and resourcefulness to bear to navigate the US Government’s complex procurement and compliance rules, with a singular focus on helping Anduril deploy its path-making technology into operational settings for the United States and its allies.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- You will head Anduril’s contracting efforts across its business efforts.
- You will help take multi-year technology projects from capture to DoD program of record.
- You will use your federal procurement expertise to help the legal, business development, proposal, and engineering teams efficiently capture new contracts, grow existing contracts, and set up follow-on opportunities for future contracts.
- You will provide guidance and support on both short and long-term procurement strategy, contractual approaches, pricing strategy, and data rights approaches.
- You will provide hands-on contract support utilizing DoD contracting authority, both pre- and post-award. This includes overseeing and evaluating major proposals, monitoring compliance and performance on existing contracts, leading or assisting in key negotiations, resolving performance issues, identifying risks and associated mitigations, ensuring compliance with regulations, procedures, and policies.
- You will serve as a counterpart to Government Contracting Officer and other procurement professionals for all contract and related matters. High-trust professional relationships with Government contracting and procurement offices are critical to Anduril’s continued success, and you will be called upon to develop and foster these relationships throughout your tenure.
QUALIFICATIONS
- You have 5+ years of DoD and/or defense industry contracting experience with a track record of taking technology projects from a pilot to a program of record.
- You are highly respected amongst your peers and/or counterparts in the Government and known as someone who gets things done.
- You have expertise with both traditional and non-traditional acquisition methods—the entire contracting toolkit—from OT agreements and SBIR contracts to middle-tier acquisition and rapid prototyping.
- You are familiar with innovative business models, from COCO to COGO and beyond. You’ve worked through the intricacies of commercial item determinations and price justification. You are nimble and able to learn and deploy the latest innovative acquisition methods.
- You are a diligent team player, no job is too small for you if it advances the project. You do not “stay in your lane.”
- You are comfortable working closely with business teams from the earliest stages of the capture process through performance, and enthusiastic about our mission and our technology.
- You are passionate and knowledgeable about the law and policy of defense acquisitions with opinions about what is right or wrong in the field and how to fix it.
- Willing to work in Washington, D.C. or Irvine, CA (not a remote position)
- Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance
