Corporate Counsel

Protecht’s industry leading live event technology and consumer-facing protection products help provide ticketing platforms and organizers with control over inventory, additional lines of revenue, fraud prevention tools, and fan engagement through enhancements like an improved checkout flow, bot detection (beta), and upgraded security.

Job Description:

In this newly created role on the Protecht team, it will be your job to manage numerous legal issues related to all business units across the company. You will be the sole legal expert on our team, working on complex issues and determining best practices for our team to navigate through any and all corporate transactions. On top of all that, you will:

• Correspond with external legal counsel on various matters within Protecht
• Serve as a key voice to Protecht’s Executive team providing advice in reference to various legal issues including business law, employment law, regulatory compliance, etc.
• Provide business and legal advice for the development of new Protecht offerings both internally and customer facing
• Possess an intellectual curiosity to gain a deep understanding of regulations impacting the business and the ability to translate that understanding into actionable guidance for the business teams.
• Negotiate and draft contracts for different business groups
• Ensure compliance across all of the Protecht ecosystem

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. and 
• 2-3 years of law firm experience or in-house legal experience at a leading, high-growth technology firm
• Strong experience negotiating complex contracts, firm understanding of InsurTech and experience navigating both domestic and international (EU and UK) insurance landscape 
• Ability to work autonomously, with little guidance, and a keen sense of foresight into various legal matters
• California Bar admission in good standing (or Registered In-House Counsel status with California State Bar)
• Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to interact with different business units and understand their needs
