Commercial Counsel at Snap Inc.
We’re looking for a Commercial Counsel to join Snap’s commercial legal team! Working from our Santa Monica, CA headquarters, you’ll play a key role in Snap’s commercial transactions and advise teams throughout the company on legal issues spanning the breadth of Snap’s products and services.
What you’ll do:
Draft, negotiate, review, and interpret agreements covering the full breadth of Snap’s commercial activities, such as: hardware distribution, data processing, advertising and marketing partnerships, outbound and inbound services, technology development, hardware manufacturing, multinational suppliers, IP licensing and SaaS, partnership agreements, ad tech and mobile commerce services and licensing deals, vendor agreements, consumer and business product terms, and online B2B and B2C terms
Provide tactical and strategic advice to Snap business and product leaders related to commercial and technology transactions
Advise business clients on company policies, business strategy, and legal issues and risks
Assist in creating and improving agreements, templates, and policies for Snap as we develop new products and enter new international markets
Exercise sound judgment when negotiating key business and legal terms
Occasionally collaborate with outside counsel
Coordinate with colleagues from every part of the company as part of cross-functional teams addressing commercial and technology matters
Handle projects at the discretion of the leads of the Snap legal commercial team
Minimum Qualifications:
J.D. degree
Membership in California or New York state bar
5+ years of practicing law in-house or at a law firm
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of in-house experience handling commercial transactions, ideally at an internet or technology company
Experience transacting with OEM’s, TelCos, and high profile technology companies
Understanding of global supply chain and retail distribution channels
Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, negotiation, and drafting skills
Excellent legal and business judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
Ability to drive collaboration and enjoys sharing knowledge and expertise
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
Ability to accommodate tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly
