POSITION SUMMARY:
The Robotic Lead will be responsible for completing the setup and installation of GM configured robots from a single robot to multiple robot cells. Successful candidates will possess programming capability, as well as have demonstrated experience with good troubleshooting, startup support, and set direction for other robotic team members. Promoting good communication within the robotic department as well as other departments to ensure a quality product is essential. Robot programmer will ensure all equipment is in a working order and will assist and train other robot techs as required.
PAY RATE : Hourly ($38.60-$44USD based on experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Minimum Ten (10) years of hands-on experience programming robots. (Fanuc Robots, GM wizard, GM standards, GRS cert and 5yrs of GM project exposure is essential)• Able to Lead small a team of robotic programmers with multiple robots at once• Knowledge and experience using Fanuc DCS software• Previous Fanuc Roboguide experience an asset• Degree, Diploma or Certificate from a Mechatronics; Automation and Robotics Technician; Robotics and Industrial Automation or similar applicable course.• Experience in robotic servo resistance welding and material handling is required, Sealer systems would be beneficial, (Robotic guided vision would be an asset)• Excellent understanding of robotic coordinate systems.• Offline Simulation and design reviews (ability to give clear direction and identify concerns)• Working knowledge of communication protocols (Enet IP)• Good understanding of GM robot program flow and programming theories• Good understanding robot safety setup, familiar with ANSI 10218-2 robotic safety standards• Computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and AutoCAD• Excellent mathematical and organizational skills• Practical experience and good understanding of electrical circuitry and wiring• Good verbal and written communication skills• Ability to work as a team member and individually
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Work closely with Robotic supervisor/s and department leads on continuous improvement; in order to maintain competitive edge in the automotive industry• Follow GM structure for robot programs and overall architecture• Maintain and support departments developments and documents• Program robot paths, set up program structure and implement offline programming• Configure robot IO, weld interface and program call• Anticipate and solve robotic problems (troubleshoot)• Work closely with Robotic Supervisor/s regarding projects, monitoring workload and deadlines• Read and interpret electrical/Pneumatic schematics and specifications• Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy (GM MPS)• Train and work with other programmers to enhance skill level(s)• Perform other reasonable duties as required
WORKING CONDITIONS:• Office and shop floor environment• Overtime hours will be required• Possible travel required to customers sites
