WE'RE LOOKING FOR A LEAD ENGINEER FOR VIRTUAL PRODUCTION

Magnopus is a VR/AR experience company founded by a diverse team of Oscar-winning artists and technicians. We’re combining storytelling, art, and advanced technologies to create Hollywood-caliber augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality experiences in virtual production, education, entertainment, and more.

We are expanding our work on a film production system that leverages VR/AR tech combined with high-end Hollywood gear to change the way movies are made. The core system has been in use successfully for quite some time, and we’re seeking a skilled Lead Engineer who will use the next-generation VR/AR tech, including custom-built hardware.

Job Description:

As a Magnopus Virtual Production Lead Engineer, you’ll work with a team of developers and engineers to expand the capabilities of the film production system to suit the next slate of big-budget films and VR experiences. You’ll also:

  • Track features from design & implementation through end user interface and support 
  • Debug, profile, and optimize your own and your team’s code and features
  • Create, communicate, and execute a vision for the direction of the project
  • Prioritize tasks and schedules under constantly changing conditions
  • Manage and mentor a team of developers of all levels

To be successful in this position, you need to have:

  • Professional experience developing 3D games/experiences using Unity, Unreal or another game engine
  • Multi-threaded and multiprocess development
  • Hardware integration knowledge
  • Database management experience 
  • Proficiency in linear algebra and general 3D mathematics
  • Extensive experience with C# and .NET Framework

It would also be great if you had experience with:

  • Multiple programming languages, especially C++, Python or JavaScript
  • Development on embedded platforms such as mobile (Android, iOS) or game consoles
  • 3D tools, e.g. 3ds Max, Maya
  • Shader development using GLSL/HLSL
  • Engine-level development or rendering development with OpenGL/Direct3D or similar
  • Working in an Agile environment
  • The responsibility of working on film sets
