Position Summary:

As a Lead Director – Finance Reporting & AI/ML Transformation, you will lead strategic initiatives focused on modernizing reporting, analytics, and decision-support capabilities across Finance and adjacent functions. This role will allow you to drive transformation through advanced reporting architectures, data platforms, and the application of AI/ML to automate, optimize, and enhance business processes. You will be recognized as a strong leader and strategic thinker with deep experience in reporting transformation, data-driven operating models, and emerging analytics technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor teams responsible for reporting modernization and AI/ML-enabled process transformation.

  • Set strategic direction and execution standards for reporting, analytics, and automation initiatives.

  • Develop and implement transformation strategies aligned with enterprise goals and business priorities.

  • Ensure teams are appropriately skilled, trained, and enabled to deliver modern reporting and AI/ML solutions.

Reporting & Analytics Transformation

  • Lead the modernization of enterprise reporting, dashboards, and management information.

  • Drive standardization, simplification, and automation of reporting processes across functions.

  • Establish scalable reporting and analytics frameworks that improve transparency, speed, and decision quality.

  • Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to define KPI frameworks and performance measurement models.

AI/ML Process Transformation

  • Identify and deliver AI/ML use cases that improve efficiency, accuracy, and insight generation.

  • Drive adoption of advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and intelligent automation in Finance processes.

  • Collaborate with data, technology, and business teams to embed AI/ML into end-to-end workflows.

  • Ensure responsible, explainable, and scalable deployment of AI/ML solutions.

Program & Delivery Management

  • Oversee multiple transformation initiatives and workstreams, balancing priorities and dependencies.

  • Establish governance, metrics, and reporting to track progress and value realization.

  • Ability to manage and support multiple projects or tasks and prioritize work effectively.

  • Ability to work independently and present solutions to stakeholders and leaders to support decision making.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in reporting, analytics, and process automation.

  • Partners with technology vendors and internal teams to adopt best-in-class tools and platforms.

  • Stay current with emerging trends in AI/ML, analytics, and reporting technologies and assess applicability.

  • Conduct periodic reviews to ensure solutions remain efficient, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage senior Finance and business leaders to understand requirements and shape transformation roadmaps.

  • Communicate progress, insights, and value delivered through reporting and AI/ML initiatives.

  • Build strong partnerships across Finance, IT, Data, and business teams to drive adoption and impact.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in data engineering

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience within a large, complex organization

  • Minimum 1 year of experience delivering Generative AI applications into production

  • Willingness to travel 10% (including plane) based on project needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making within Finance or enterprise functions

  • Familiarity with modern data platforms, reporting tools, and analytics ecosystems.

  • Related Cloud certification (e.g. GCP, AWS, Azure)

  • Hands-on experience on BigQuery and/or Databricks is highly preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent years of related professional work experience may substitute

  • Advanced degree or certifications in analytics, data science, or transformation disciplines preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
