The Role

HR Communications Lead (Vice President) - Hybrid Schedule, Los Angeles, CA.
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The HR Communications Lead (Vice President) will facilitate and improve communications among colleagues, supervisors, the Human Resources department, and executive leadership, to ensure that colleagues know and comply with City National's mission, goals, policies, and expectations.
A person in this position will be responsible for crafting and implementing effective lifecycle communication techniques in City National's employment plan. You will also be expected to coordinate all internal communications channels, such as emails and newsletters, and devise communications campaigns that support colleague engagement. Other duties the HR Communications Lead is expected to perform are the creation and distribution of reference materials, such as goal and performance initiatives, open enrollment materials, and benefits summaries that reflect our brand approach and supports company strategy.
What you will do

  • Act as liaison for the HR team and contribute with innovative communications strategies to build rapport, morale, and productivity.
  • Create inclusive communications strategies and content to advance HR initiatives and programs, such as performance management, open enrollment, and compensation.
  • Research, create, and conduct communications plans and initiatives to convey City National's overall goals and facilitate open dialogue among colleagues.
  • Write and distribute reference materials, such as goal and performance review initiatives and summaries of perks and benefits.
  • Research colleague morale and retention initiatives to advance HR projects, such as incentive programs, colleague surveys, and career development.
  • Oversees calendar/reporting, team initiatives and team strategy to coordinate communications and deploy resources appropriately. Oversees team members including providing feedback and guidance and helping to eliminate roadblocks.
  • All other appropriate duties as required.


Must-Have*

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in HR Communications with a focus on coaching, leadership, and project management
  • 3+ years of direct or indirect supervisory experience


Skills and Knowledge

  • BA/BS degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, or related communications field preferred
  • Finance/banking background preferred.
  • Editing, AP Style, business communications background a plus
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills required.
  • Proficiency in creating communications strategies and campaigns.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Solid research and writing skills and a proven ability to convey information concisely and logically.
  • Must be able to provide high attention to detail.
  • Must possess an interpersonal style that enables effective relationships with peers and senior executives in the execution of job responsibilities.
  • Strong background in HR communications, corporate communications, and business writing
  • Must be capable of working well independently and in teams.


Compensation
Starting base salary: $101,231 - $172,355 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
