Sr. Node.js Backend Engineer
Fuel Cycle is seeking a full time, on-site (no remote), direct hire, Senior Node.js Backend Engineer to join our Research and Development team. As a Senior Node.js Backend Engineer at Fuel Cycle, you will work with our Director of Engineering to define software requirements and take the lead on integrating Node into operational and technical projects. As one of the members of our Research and Development team, you’ll be building web applications and microservices while working on big data(storage, analysis, filtering), and consumer facing products. Responsibilities- Co-architect the Node.js solutions, develop the code, and manage the applications
- Assist the Director of Engineering with integrating Node in the current software stack
- Help set up Node infrastructure (servers, development pipeline, QA automation, etc)
- Train & assist other team members in their transition to Node.js
- Close collaboration with other key stakeholders: Mobile, Frontend, DevOps, QA, Product
- Develop unit tests in one or more of the popular JavaScript test suites
- BA/BS preferred or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience architecting Node.js infrastructure in a web application context
- 2+ years working within AWS (Amazon Web Services) or similar cloud systems for development and production applications, with an emphasis on automated build and deployment, high availability, and scalability
- 3+ years of backend development using JavaScript and Node.js
- 3+ years of backend development in object-oriented programming languages (Java, C#…)
- 5+ years of JavaScript experience
- 5+ years working with SQL and NoSQL
- 5+ years working experience with one or more Node.js frameworks (e.g., Express)
- Extensive experience developing micro-services and working with APIs
- Professional experience designing or maintaining an automated build pipeline including elements such as compilation, modularization, web packaging, minification, automated unit testing, etc
- Excellent knowledge of Internet/Web technologies, such as web browsers, AJAX, HTTP, HTML/XML, REST, JavaScript, CSS, XSL/XSLT, etc
- Proficient with Jira, Confluence, and git toolset
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a team
