Pipe is building cutting edge embedded financial solutions to help small businesses and software companies build something bigger. We’re a remote-first team of problem solvers who build and ship at a high velocity. We’re customer obsessed and leave our egos at the door. If this sounds fun, join us!

Role:

We’re looking for an IT Support Contractor to help keep our growing team productive and supported. With over 160 users (and growing fast), we need additional coverage to ensure smooth onboarding, responsive helpdesk support, and reliable IT operations. This is a 6-month role, with the potential to extend as Pipe continues to scale.

As an IT Support Contractor, you’ll be the front line of technical support for our employees around the world. You’ll manage daily requests, support onboarding and offboarding, and keep our systems running smoothly. This role is critical for ensuring continuity as we expand internationally and improve timezone coverage for our global user base.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality, responsive support via our helpdesk channel to resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Handle onboarding and offboarding tasks, including account provisioning/deprovisioning, access setup, and new hire communications.
  • Manage IT administrative tasks, including MDM maintenance, IDP/SSO, and expense tracking & reconciliation
  • Partner with the IT team to ensure a seamless transition during and after parental leave coverage.
  • Contribute to scaling IT processes as Pipe grows, especially supporting an international workforce across multiple time zones.
Qualifications:
  • 1–3+ years of IT support, helpdesk, or systems administration experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with SaaS administration, identity/access management, and common IT workflows (e.g., onboarding/offboarding).
  • Comfortable handling hardware inventory, user account management, and ticketing systems.
  • Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn new tools and systems.
  • A junior to intermediate IT support professional, with training and mentorship provided, or
  • A mid-level IT professional, capable of ramping quickly and driving productivity from day one, with potential to transition into a long-term hire.
  • US-based role. Eastern time zone.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • The equipment and tools you need to succeed.
  • Flexible working hours across global time zones.
  • An opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment at a high-growth startup.
  • Great colleagues! We value a culture of authenticity, humility, and excellence.

At Pipe, you’ll help shape how embedded finance gets built. Not just for one partner, but for an entire category in multiple geographies.

The U.S. hourly compensation range for this role is $40 per hour. The final rate will be determined during the interview process based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
