Team and Role Overview:

The Relativity Team is a small group comprised of a diverse mixture of skill sets—from Robotics, Manufacturing, Propulsion, to Business Development, and Operations. Our goal as a company is to break the barriers of space by building rockets faster and more cost effective than anyone else—we are seeking a group of interns to help us achieve this mission.

You will be working here at our facilities in Los Angeles (Inglewood, about a 15-minute drive to the beach!)—where hardware and software expertise collide to develop the technology needed to meet our technical goals. You also will be integrated into our company with a mentor that will guide you through your project and ensure your success!

Examples of what our summer 2018 interns got to work on:

· Test stand design and build

· Computer vision for our Robotic Printing Process

· Writing code for our printers

· Automated anomaly detection

· Large capital expenditure installation and activation

· Tooling Design

Candidate Profile: (Who is the person we are looking for?)

We are seeking interns who want to grow professionally in a challenging, fast paced environment—helping us solve unique problems that will impact the future of aerospace.

The projects we have for you will be high impact—meaning you will have a heavy influence over the technology being developed. You should be someone who revels in ambiguity and wants to solve tough challenges.

This role is specific to our Vehicle and Propulsion groups. Are you someone with interest in new rocket design? Propulsion development? Testing? Tooling design? If so, this is the internship for you!

You should at least be:

· Enrolled in an accredited four-year university or college, or a recent graduate

· Capable of relocating to Los Angeles and complete a 12-week internship program

Preferably you are:

· A hands-on engineer with experience from collegiate engineering competitions (Formula, UAV, Robotics, Research, Hackathons, etc.,) or have had previous internship experience

Other questions you may have:

Are Relativity internships paid? Yes!

o All of our internships are paid based on the level of education and role

What departments will I work with?

o We are hiring in Vehicle, Propulsion, Manufacturing, Robotics, and Software Teams.

What majors are you hiring for?

o We don’t have any hard and fast rules for majors but anything close/related to Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Software, Computer Science, Material Science, Robotics

Will there be housing assistance?

o Yes! We do have a monthly stipend for interns and we will connect all the summer interns through a private channel.

What level of interns do you take?

o We are looking for interns who are capable of completing high level projects. Typically, such skills come from students whom are closer to their graduation date such as Juniors, Seniors, Masters, and PhD students. With that being said, we are open to considering Freshmen and Sophomores who may have extraordinary capabilities.

What is the interview process?

o The process will typically be a recruiter screen plus two technical calls. These calls may also have a homework piece depending on your skill set.

I've applied, when will I hear back?

o Due to the volume of applications we receive for these internship roles and our small team, it may take us a few weeks to get back to you. We appreciate your patience!
