THE ROLE
Golden Hippo is currently seeking a quick-learning, self-motivated Technical Coordinator Intern to support the development of various web based software projects. The Technical Coordinator Intern will be joining us during our 2021 Summer Internship Program. Golden Hippo’s Internship Program will run from June 7th – August 27th. We are planning an internship experience that will provide interns with an experiential experience where the interns can learn new skills that can benefit a long-term career. There will be great opportunities for project work, professional development, networking opportunities as well as social activities. You will work with a team of talented engineers and web professionals who are passionate about the web and where it's going. This is a great opportunity for students or recent graduates to learn the ins-and-outs of building great web products in a fast-paced, growing company.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
- Driving tasks, issue closure, and providing regular status updates to stakeholders
- Triaging incoming issues and enhancements
- Assigning development resources and due dates supporting the delivery of change requests from the marketing teams
- Writing and modifying front-end code primarily using Angular JavaScript and the Ionic framework
- Creating intuitive responsive websites and web apps
- Performing quality assurance testing and participating in code reviews
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Basic understanding of project management software (e.g. Jira)
- Basic understanding of Agile methodologies
- Basic understanding of common UX patterns
- Basic understanding or experience with continuous integration tool (e.g. Gitlab)
- Experience in front-end development from course assignments or side projects
- Experience in developing rich applications with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Able to write clean, readable code and perform basic tests
- Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
