Game Design Internship
Position Summary:
As a Game Design Intern, reporting to the Senior Game Designer, you will be responsible for providing creative ideas for a suite of card and puzzle games. You will learn and use your documentation knowledge to provide the team with clear and concise Game Design Documents. Working with interdisciplinary teams to help create in-game content and experiences will grow you into a strong advocate for players. You will also get the opportunity to work directly in Unity and see your changes make an immediate impact.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team to design and document features, mechanics, and systems, as well as work with interdisciplinary professionals to make those designs come to life
- Craft detailed, easy-to-read Game Design documents (GDD) that communicate your designs clearly and effectively to Engineers, Artists, and QA
- Provide and receive constructive feedback and participate in design discussions and playtests
- Research and deconstruct new game trends within the casual market
- Learn to analyze and make decisions based on data
Qualifications for Position:
- Upperclassmen or Graduate student
- Experience with video game development in professional, indie, or academic settings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic understanding of fundamental principles of game design
