Universal Music Group is currently seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to manage the overall HR function for multiple business units and corporate functions. The VP serves as a strategic business partner to senior management in driving the business as it relates to our people and organizational effectiveness. The VP, HR manages operational HR activities including consulting and advising on policy and procedure, organizational effectiveness, staffing, compensation, employee relations, and development, as well as change management.
Job Functions:
Builds, develops and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with management and employees across multiple business units to deliver value-added HR servicesDevelops a detailed understanding of the client's business –departments, jobs, structure, processes, financialsProactively assesses client needs for HR services and develops strategies to meet those needsAddresses employee relations issues and other immediate issues to minimize risk; manage investigations as applicableEnsure alignment between individual, business unit and corporate practices and serve as a credible activist, operational executor, business allyPromote positive employee relations and communication by counselling employees and proactively facilitating conflict resolution between employees;Coach employees and managers on career development, goal setting, performance improvement and people managementPartner with Talent Management and Comp and Benefits teams on talent acquisition and assessment, learning and development initiatives, Compensation programs and processes; operationalize programs as applicableRepresent Universal Music Group and the HR function in a positive light by gaining and maintaining knowledge of industry trends and general business knowledge/acumen

Experience:
Minimum 10+ years of prior Human Resources Generalist and/or Organizational Development experience is idealExperience practicing HR in a fast paced, unstructured, and/or creative industry (music, fashion, retail, television, advertising, hospitality etc.) is a plusHRIS experience,Strong knowledge in employment laws; multi-state experience preferredProficient in MS Office (word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Vision and/or Org Plus experience a plus
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a relevant field with HR related coursework
