The Senior Talent Development Specialist designs, develops, and delivers talent development solutions, including new hire training, on-going skill building workshops, and leadership development trainings, that build overall capability and maintain a high-quality talent pool. The Senior Talent Development Specialist will drive improvement across the company through key organizational learning initiatives. The Senior Talent Development Specialist must have strong facilitation and instructional design skills with professional experience in learning and development. Success in this role will be heavily dependent upon understanding BlackLine's unique culture and tailoring solutions to meet the needs of the organization.


Responsibilities:

Course Facilitation

  • Designs, develops, and facilitates interactive, meaningful learning initiatives that develop key capabilities that will enable BlackLine to archive its potential (classroom and web-based).
  • Leads ongoing development and delivery of BlackLine's New Hire Orientation program.
  • Shares design and facilitation responsibility of the core management and emerging leader programs.
  • Designs and develops impactful and engaging e-learning courses by applying adult learning methodology.
  • Works with 3rd party vendor to bring technical and non-technical courses on site.
  • Gathers post-training feedback in accordance with the defined departmental evaluation process.


Course Development

  • Assists the Instructional Design Manager and Human Resource Business Partners with learning needs assessments.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in the areas of adult learning theory, innovative learning methodologies and technologies, and training evaluation methods.
  • Designs learning solutions in a variety of modalities to meet BlackLine's diverse workforce needs, including Instructor-Led, virtual Instructor-Led, blended learning, on-demand, and web-based.
  • Designs and prepares training materials including outlines, job-aids, work instructions, classroom materials, on-the-job training guides, posters, hand-outs, infographics, videos, quizzes, and worksheets.
  • Assists with organizational development activities and process improvement initiatives.

System Administration and Maintenance

  • Manage SuccessFactors LMS, Degreed, and other related administrative tasks with BlackLine's Learning Platforms.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, uploading new employee information into required systems, and coordinating enrollment.
  • Keep learning materials up to date based on business data, trends, and updates to processes.
  • Maintains awareness of current best practices and trends in the area of training and organizational development through continuous education.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Who You Are 


  • You have at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in Learning and Development within a face-paced organization, with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in: designing, developing, and implementing impactful employee development solutions and programs using a variety of innovative approaches, needs assessment, performance consulting, and training evaluation.
  • You have expert knowledge and application of instructional design methods and adult learning principles.
  • You have experience working in a complex global organization where interaction and building partnerships across functions, regions, and business units is key to success.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • You have strong organizational, program, and project management skills and are an expert in facilitating.
  • You have strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills to assess and continuously improve process, practices, and tools.
  • You are comfortable with complexity, ambiguity, and change and have a strong demonstrated learning agility.
  • You have working knowledge of a Learning Management System, online training solutions, and delivery platforms.
