Hawke Media is looking for a Senior HR manager to join our growing operations team. This person will help us continue to build Hawke and its great culture by giving feedback on already existing HR practices, continuing to establish ongoing HR initiatives and providing an amazing employee experience for all Hawke employees. As a member of the HR team, you will be key to ensuring the continuous growth and success of Hawke’s organization and culture by working with the current team on initiatives such as new hire onboarding, training and development, and HR policy and compliance. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Audit current HR framework to uncover any areas of opportunity 
  • Work with current HR and Recruiting staff to co-manage the onboarding process and new hire experience 
  • Manage the company’s compliance with federal, state and local employment laws
  • Maintain and update the employee handbook to stay current with new employment laws and address any new company policies 
  • Perform benefits administration and management including health, retirement, company perks, etc
  • Process and administer leaves of absence, unemployment and workers’ compensation claims 
  • Create new HR processes and structures as well as a way to measure the success of all new initiatives
  • Lead and manage cultural initiatives that reiterate our values and ensure a positive employee experience

 

Qualifications and Expectations:

 

  • Must have 5+ years experience in human resources in an office environment (experience in an agency is a plus)   
  • Demonstrated positive contribution to a company’s HR procedure, employee experience and culture    
  • Previous experience with an HRIS such as Namely, experience with Paylocity a plus
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication   
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments    
  • Expertise in policy design and an understanding of all necessary regulations 
  • Superior organizational skills, project management skills, and a strong attention to detail are necessary
  • Enjoys a fast-paced and challenging workplace. Is comfortable working independently as well as with a team
