People Operations Manager
Who we are
HopSkipDrive is a mission-driven company that makes life easier for busy families by getting kids where they need to go safely and dependably. We match families with highly-vetted CareDrivers, who have a minimum of 5 years of childcare experience and must pass a mom-approved, rigorous 15-point certification process, which includes extensive background checks, fingerprinting, DMV checks, driver training, and meeting every single driver in person.
We were founded by 3 working moms who have 8 kids among them and who developed HopSkipDrive as a solution to their own problems getting kids where they needed to go. We are a VC-backed company with investment and involvement from nearly every major LA investor including Upfront Ventures, Greycroft and Pritzker, with more than $20M in funding.

This position reports directly to the VP of Finance.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in people operations/HR, preferably in a startup environment
- Familiarity with TriNet is a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent judgement and impeccable integrity
- Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost sensitivity and professionalism
- Relationship builder with strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong verbal and writing skills
- A BA or equivalent
Role and Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for all systems, processes, and issues related to employee experience
- Provide guidance to managers and team around ad-hoc HR and employment issues
- Oversee performance evaluations, peer feedback, goal setting, and learning and development
- Support managers around leadership, communication and feedback, career paths, and compliance
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding
- Manage payroll processing and benefits
- Work directly with members of the Executive team to source candidates for open positions
- Be the face of the company while coordinating the interview process, including outreach and scheduling
- Lead coordination of company events and activities
- Oversee the office admin and provide support and guidance around office management issues
- Serve as a role model for the company’s culture by embodying the highest standards of behavior and ethics
