GOAT Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for full cycle multi state payroll processing and activities necessary to ensure accurate and timely payroll according to all applicable federal and state regulations. The Payroll Specialist will also review time sheets, wage computation, and other information to identify and resolve discrepancies prior to posting payroll.

This position will work closely with the People Operations and Accounting teams to improve overall processes and will provide exceptional internal customer service. The role will report to the Senior Payroll Manager under the Total Rewards & People Operations function. 

In this role you will

  • Utilize the online payroll system (Ultimate Software and Kronos) to produce accurate pay for bi-weekly and multi-state salaried and hourly employees.
  • Administer the time and attendance system (UltiPro WFM) by working with internal teams to validate timecard entries. 
  • Assist with resolving timecard errors as needed and ensure timecards are completed and approved prior to payroll processing.
  • Process off-cycle payments such as final checks, corrections, or supplemental pay.
  • Coordinate with People Operations team to ensure proper workflow of employee data.
  • Assist with payroll processing reconciliation and audits.
  • Respond to questions from employees regarding paychecks, direct deposit, and/or general payroll questions.
  • Escalate payroll matters to the Senior Payroll Manager as needed.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and provide high-quality customer service.
  • Support with other payroll related matters as needed.

We are looking for

  • 4+ years of payroll experience.
  • Experience working with a payroll size of 500+ employees with a large hourly workforce.
  • Experience with Ultimate Software and Kronos (UKG) for payroll processing.
  • Proven understanding of payroll best practices and tax requirements, with an understanding of how payroll transactions impact the general ledger and other reporting.
  • Strong customer orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills to partner and build collaborative working relationships with employees.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented mindset and a high sense of urgency.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
